    The 76ers just called up

apparently they want Harden, but are worried it might cost them Canaan.
Houston trying to swing a 3 way trade and get Austin Rivers instead.

    multiple sources.

we're not going anywhere with James, we could at least get decent value for him though.

    He's a 3rd banana on a championship team, and we don't have a 1st or 2nd banana.

This article is idiotic. Harden is still a top 10 player with his non-existent defense. You don't trade players like that in their prime. Is he even in his prime yet?

Its easy to think that with the rocket goggles on breh. Need to be objective with the takes. We're sitting at .500, something Aaron Brooks and Scola were able to do better than while having a tougher schedule, and a big chunk of that lies in the hands of the leader. The same people defending Harden are the ones that b**** the likes of Melo out, who is a very similar player in terms of demeanor, attitude, and offensive savy-- defense lacking approach to the game.

I have long ago come to the conclusion that kevjn pelton is an idiot. First of all by his twitter posts its evident he doesnt even watches games. And all he relies on are his statistical formulas.

Finally someone sees the real problem and of course they are not in the Rockets organization.

We may not be trading Harden, but he knows with the reboot, he's not gonna win a championship anytime soon.

Championships do not fall from the sky

If he wants to win one anytime soon he better work his arse off in the

offseason and play to the pace of the whole team, move off the ball, and shoot
    better

Harden was never really overrated but he sure went underrated really fast. Sure Harden is the primary problem this season, but at the same time he's carried three consecutive playoff births and two 50 win seasons before this year including a runner up mvp performance. Now at the very first signs of a down year, you NEED to trade him?

I thought Kevin Pelton was above this click bait. The Rockets would be dumb NOT to give Harden another shot or two to recreate seasons like the past THREE before this year. Your chances of getting somewhere with Harden are way better than banking on scrap pieces and Isiah Thomas as your offensive playmaker.

Just dumb, but yes we ALL are frustrated with Harden this year. His defense needs to get back to where it was last year at least consistently.

Any time someone posts something that Kevin Pelton said, just refer them back to this article so that we can dismiss his opinions immediately.

Kevin Pelton is NOT above the click bait.
Seriously..he doesn't even watch games. Him and Thorpe.
Only listen to them when they say about direct insider info or for Pelton when it is stricly stricly analytical numbers.
Pelton is the epitome of what analytics critics accuse of. He can't see beyond the numbers and his own formulas. He doesn't understand bball to be honest.

What if next year he plays like he did last year because he might not have offseason injuries. Rockets would look totally dumb.

    Nice overexaggeration.

Harden isn't even one of the 3 worst defenders on the Rockets.

Translation: ESPN "You need to trade James Harden to big market city because we don't like to cover Houston"

I'm dying laughing at the "Danilo Gallinari and Gary Harris" deal. At least all the other deals have guys who have been or will be at some point in their careers the best player on their team, even a bad team.

I think if he would have put Blake Griffin on the table or Jimmy Butler that lots of people wouldn't be complaining as much. Realistically speaking though, the league knows James is a partier, he doesn't play defense, he comes into training camp always over-weight, and he's mostly an offensive player (the perfect 6th man). If I'm the Rockets I am trading James. I'm calling up Chicago and offering him for Butler, I'm calling up the Pacers and offering him for Paul George, I'm calling the Lakers and taking D'angelo Russell, Julius Randle, and draft picks. That last one would kind of suck because we would definitely be in rebuilding mode but like the Astros I think we would come out of the fire ok.
