We all know Houston was struggling, but we kind of felt at worst they would make the playoffs as a 7 or 8 seed. Well, as of right now, Houston is not even in the playoffs. This has to be rock-bottom for the Rockets right now. And as a fan, I just don't see the same resolve. They look defeated and uninspired. The chemistry is obviously an issue.

Last year the team focused on defense but this year that seems like an afterthought. Guys refuse to get back and just lose their guys in transition. I love James Harden and I think he has a lot on his shoulders offensively to score and facilitate, so I understand to a certain degree on the mental lapses or effort on defense. But it's becoming worse with each passing game and something has to give there. Trading him is not an option for me, but I don't know what else they can do there. Get him more help on the offensive side? That's a problem that cannot be resolved this year, of course.

Lastly, the knee-jerk reaction is make a trade. But that too will be easier said than done. Here is why I think they won't just make a trade indiscriminately, they are focused on making a run for Durant next year and because of that, I've tempered my expectations. But it's just a helpless feeling watching the team drown, metaphorically speaking.

Yes, they panicked 11 games in.

We are past the "panic" stage and in the "acceptance" stage.

    Panic?

We're already at the 5th stage of grief.

Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance

That was pressed at 4-7. I think we're at the "detonate" stage right now.

Yeah, I agree. We're passed th panic stages. I was just hopeful that we could at least get them in the playoffs at the very least. But it looks like that may not be the case either. Granted, it'll be a short exit if we played Golden State or San Antonio. But I'd still rather be in the playoffs than not. Ugh, just so sad.

The ONLY thing I'd sell the team if I'm JB is technically we're the epitome of mediocre. We're 500..All we need is a winning streak and we're back in the playoff hunt.

Panic button was when we fired McHale. I've pressed the "Cruel Reality" button that this season is a waste of our time, and we need to plan for next year.

In case you forgot we were 1 win away from the 7th seed last year. Just saying. We'll be ok.

Thanks for the feedback. I was just trying to vent some frustrations on a Houston Rockets message board. Sorry it doesn't meet your standards.

There is always that one idiot, I guess. lol

Agreed. Hey, they may not have been the most talented but you knew Scola, Landry, and those guys would give it everything they had. Right now, Harden's focused on his breakup with Kloe. Howard has always been aloof, and we are still wondering how TY Lawson all of a sudden forgot how to play basketball.
