I'd love to get him, but we have too many frontcourt players to give him time. However, if we could unload one of our PF's + Rice for a good SF, then sign him, that would be great. Yao/Cato MoT/Rodman SAR/Griffin/Boki Mobley/Pike Francis/Moochie/Wilks? That would be the best rebounding team in the league. Yao, Cato and Rodman would more than make up for MoT, while SAR is always near 10 rebounds, and Francis is the best rebounder among PG's in the league, right? Wow.
Interesting that the article on Dennis Rodman portrayed him as an alcoholic, hedonistic, sexist, exploited spendthrift -- self-tortured if not psychotic. Why wasn't it even mentioned that it was Rodman who stepped up to help pay for the funeral of James Byrd, who was dragged to his death behind the pickup of some good ol' boys in Texas? Balance, please. Lynne Stewart New York (letter to ny times in response to a largely negative piece on the worm in its sunday magazine)
Now your talking. Rodman wants/ needs this opportunity -- I see him regaining his form and putting a team over the top.
How do we know he will be grabbing that many rebounds a game anyways.. I mean he is 42 yet we think he still can grab that many rebounds.... hmm i really dont know what to think i think ill just be quiet
1) Rodman is coming back to the NBA because he needs the money and probably, the glory too. I find it hard to believe that he has a burning desire to play for a lottery team and help them make the playoffs. If he did come back, I am sure he would look to go to a contender. 2) Rodman hasn't played a full season in 5 1/2 years. At his age, coupled with said layoff, I highly doubt he can be anything close to the player he was. 3) What limited rebounding and defense Rodman brings is not worth the cancerous attitude that will accompany him.
Nobody cares about Rodman anymore and that probably pisses him off. That's the only reason he wants to come back. Either that or he blew all his money and needs a signing bonus to pay off his gambling debts. He's done. His 15 minutes are up. In the immortal words of Bobby Dooley, "he's so five minutes ago."
