Thibs wants the GM/Coach role according to Zach Lowe. Even if we didn't have Morey, I'd pass on that offer in a heartbeat.
Les needs to be the owner. Hire Messina. Tell Morey that Messina is the coach and tell Messina that Morey is the GM. If they have problems with each other then to report to him. He needs to take power away from Morey, relegate him to what he's supposed to be doing. Scouting, drafting, handling the cap, trades. The coach needs to have full control over his team. Who he plays, etc etc. No "Showcasing" a player for a trade. No 3 point philosophy, let the coach do his job. Let morey do his. They should work together about what kind of player the team needs but other than that. No. No more GM meddling in decisions that should be up to a coach.
I'm thinking Shaka is happy at UT, especially once he gets recruits in. But... He'd be a lot better than JBB
