Should have posted up more. Don't know why he didn't do that. It'll be a sweet playoff series if these 2 play.
This honestly doesn't mean that much. Curry probably wouldn't be having a historical season without the system + players either... You know who the main recipients of Draymond green's assists are? Curry and Thompson. About 2 a game each. Green is undeniably the second best player on a 46-4 team. IF that's not an elite player, I really don't know what is.
What does elite mean to you? What about rare? Name another player with the skillset of Draymond Green in the NBA? That's not named Lebron James (assuming Lebron can play elite defense vs centers)
Elite is what you saw when Green and KD square off tonight 1-on-1. KD is elite. Green is an all-star on most nights on that team. It wasn't a fair match up. It was like KD was playing against a boy.
He's a very good passer/playmaker from the Pf spot plus he is hitting 42% on 3s. Obviously he's not elite like kd/curry/Lebron/Westbrook/harden Those guy can carry an offense and have proven can be number one options on 50+ win teams. But green is a great number 2-3 player on any team. Kd and Russ are super talented but they don't mesh very well because Russ is not a very good spot up shooter. One of The reasons I think harden meshes better with kd.
Not likely. The Rockets are the garbage time masters. Go down 20+ early so the game is already lost, then clean up garbage time to make it mildly respectable.
The Thunder have improved mightily in this regard. However, they revert back to old habits in crunch time (and when only one other guy comes to play). KD & WB have been coached the same way their entire career. It's a work in progress. Billy Donovan was a good hire.
How to beat the Warriors...PLAY freaking defense... They allowed 71 points in the 1st half, and then locked down the Warriors in the second half. These OKC Thunder have hope...THEY can play defense... For a team that is this hot, NBA defenses need to switch things up...I thought the bigger defender on Livingston was a smart decision. I also think that the Warriors can be beat tremendously in the paint. Bogut looked incredible stationary...when Durant came through the lane. Trying to play the "jump-shooting" game against them is just NOT a good decision. They had their most success when the ATTACKED the paint relentlessly. Its hard to see the weakness of a great team, since they essentially blow out every opponent, but a team that plays DEFENSE against them will have a chance.
It was a great game, but would not be surprised if Warriors went to Okc and beat them by 50 on their home floor.
yea...not happening. OKC plays very well on their home court, and they have a very good home court advantage.
It's amusing that the Warriors are so good that now playing close games against other elite teams brings out the excitement in Warriors haters. "This team is SO beatable. You just need to play defense. Any team who plays defense will destroy this team as proven by this great team who just lost to the Warriors!" "Green was beaten by one of the greatest offensive players the game has ever seen. Overrated...he'd be trash anywhere else. Great shooting, passing, ball-handling and defense don't translate outside of the Warriors system." I wish the Rockets were doing what the Warriors were doing, but I don't let those wishes make me pretend that the Warriors, Curry and Green aren't special.
