my dog is OBSESSED with toys that squeak - truly, i doubt even food brings the b**** more joy. thing is, she always kills the squeaker within hours/a couple days. anyone know of or have experience with a durable toy w/squeaker that can withstand lab gnaws? TIA.

My previous dog would do the same thing. Kill the squeaker within minutes sometimes. She'd even eat the plastic to get to it.

There are those toys that are balls with whistles. As the ball rotates, some slider thing travels down a inner tube and whistles. We switched to that. So, there is no thing to squeeze, but it still makes news from playing with it.

    Search for dog whistle ball.

squeaker is/was always immediately pulled out by my dogs.

.99 cent stuffed animals from thrift stores. my last dog (lab-retriever) and current (golden) love them and if they destroy it, who cares? it was only .99 cents! why pay $5-$10 for something your dog will shred up in a couple hours?

i usually get a couple medium sized teddy bears and i noticed with both my dogs that they will rip up one and pull out the stuffing/eyes/limbs, but the other will be their baby that they take care of and sleep with.

is your dog into tennis balls? both mine love(d) to fetch, but also just carry around with them.

There's a brand called Tuffy's, and each of their toys is ranked on a "Tuffy Scale". The higher the number, the stronger the toy is. Our dog (shepherd mix), 55 lbs, still eventually destroys the 10s BUT it's because he prefers just chewing on them until he opens them up, i.e. he doesn't really play with them, just eats them.

It's probably your best bet, but they're definitely more expensive than your typical dog toy (generally $15 - $25, depending on the size).
