Remember how teams neutralised Ming with fronting?

Just lol at your theory though. Good luck with Ming trying to defend a p'n'r on the perimeter involving Green and Curry

With JB as our coach.. LMFAO! Morey gave up on the season the second he fired Mchale and didn't call in a real coach. Now all they are doing is damage control and PR(not pick and Roll). Yao would get frustrated and would probably be out injured half the season to all of the season because of our failure to get the proper help he needed to succeed. Everyone has to play defence in order for the team to succeed and protect our bigman. Everyone continues knock on Dwight but we are "enabling" Harden to get away without playing a lick of defence. Even Hakeem would have problems having to compensate for the lack of defence Harden puts out there.

I recall Rockets mostly being the Suns' beeeotch those days.

There was a game we were losing 99-50. I'll never forget witnessing that.

I think he would be an answer to the warriors lineup of death. Draymond couldn't guard him and would be worn out from trying. One of the last great post players of this generation. Thanks for making me sad.

Yao would fit in really well, on the bench with all our other invalid players. Each one can wrap up a different body part: DMo's back, Howard's shoulder, Yao's foot, TJones' head...

    Fire Keith Jones (tm).

    Fatality by fronting.

    Terrible fit for 2010s NBA.

Do you think Mozgov is remotely close to the player Yao was?

Offensively, he would be a MUCH better option.

We can all talk about Yao's superior post moves and free throw shooting compared to Howard, but Yao was also a great passer and could space the floor very well. Later in Yao's career he was starting to shoot jumpers from 18-20 feet and hitting them consistently. Without much doubt, he could have extended his range to the three point line, I think.

One thing, we would miss would be the Howard pick and roll, though.

Defensively, Dwight is much better. Yao was solid but he was an average rebounder and shot blocker. Definitely not the level of Howard. Yao also struggled with guarding the perimeter, especially big guys that could shoot (2007 Playoffs vs. Okur).

Overall, Yao would fit a little better with this team, given his offensive skill. He would be the clear number 2 option here, where Howard is probably a 3rd option at this point of his career and lack of skill.

As Much as I like Yao, he will not be as successful as he was during his "short" stay in NBA.

I think Yao would be more productive if he was to play in the Shaq Era. Yao wont destroy Shaq, but he can to everyone else.

Prime Yao with Harden would wreck this league.. sans the GSW and Spurs ;)

Current Dwight is a shell of his former self, and the former self couldn't dominate the way Prime Yao did

he would be benched every game because opposing teams will play small ball as a strategy.

In terms of size, general ploddingness, and vulnerability to Golden State's pace and space attack, small ball lineup and speed advantage - yes they are incredibly close.

    I actually miss Yao.
He would be our Tim Duncan...only a much better FT shooter.

    Let me rephrase.

Offensively, do you think Mozgov is remotely close to the player Yao was?

Because that's exactly what you implied.
