If they think he won't resign then do you move him at the deadline?

If Dwight wants to win he'll take less. If not then farewell, it was a decent time.

Wow,,,that's quite the conspiracy. Whistle-blowing GMs would be ruined,,,'eh. You're going with that.

Not sure why people are suprised there is tampering...how could there not be...too many relationships inside the league...too tempting to feel people out off the record.

Barnes being available is the first thing i thought of, when reading about durant to GS. It would be great, but that would mean trying to beat one hell of a super team.

    yUP.
For example..Khris middleton agreed to his rfa contract like 20 minutes after the moratorium ended. And that's because his agent already had agreed with the FO long before that. [and btw known from credible sources his agent had talked to the FO one whole year before he was allowed about what the player wanted to get paid]
And the other GMs went and complained later to Lowe that they didnt' get a chance to even talk to him face to face in a meeting to convince him.

But the difference as you said that brings things in question is DMO's health situation. If he was healthy the Barnes plan would be easy.
But right now it makes the variance of what he can get TOO large. Let's say Morrey has spoken about 10 per and let's say that DMO's agent is braindead and has said okay. What if when Detroit can't sign Rhyno their only backup plan is DMO? And waht if when Rhyno is out of the picture then the fox Detroit GM Tellem who was one of the most powerful agents in the world, goes and contacts them..knowing they will have to overpay?
The situation is too shady with DMO. Because his price depends on more things due to his health questions.

Detroit NEEDS a pf. This summer. They will have one. They want to win and win now. If they dont' get Rhyno they will turn to DMO. (and I didn't even need Lowe to know that, it's plain as the day).

It's not a conspiracy theory. If you don't believe it it's fine. I will just enjoy the stories about Hinkie was screwed by agents due to what he did. (for example the Guitierez lie).
Agents are the one with the power in this league. The GMs have to have great relationships with them otherwise they are finished.
    And Morrey fortunately knows it.

Dallas features his friend Parsons, an amazing coach, great role player at 2 (Matthews) and revitalized Williams. All they need is a legit PF when Nowitzki retires. I heard Atlanta is looking to move Horford.

    Exactly what I'm thinking about.

But do also consider that if DM can work his magic, it could alternatively be Harden-Durant-Blake-Capela

How about if the team agreed for them to test the market, with the condition that they let the team know about the market?

It would be good for the team, obviously, to get market info either to negotiate the next contract or simply trade him before he walks.

It would be good for the agent/player to see whether they would demand a trade or just stay put.

Kinda' captain obvious, but still nice to see DM has drawn the line to a super max deal.

31+ year old with nagging injuries does not equal super max deal. I'm the biggest DH fan on this board (always shows up for big games, posts ridiculous numbers during playoffs), but a super max deal would cripple any chances the Rox have of contending.

Looks like current-Clippers "good": 2nd round.

Maxed out core, 2nd round fodder.

I hope we keep him - if we get a coach that will utilize him and not just have him be a spectator in the james harden show...

To be fair, everything looks the same when you reach a certain level.

On PAPER, the Warriors and Spurs look the same as the Clippers and Thunder and Cavs to an extent.

You got to put the group together... then find the right coach and system and have it work.

I think the change view - which I subscribe to - is that the Rockets put a core together, and it hasn't really worked. Got to switch it up.

I don't think Dwight spoke to anybody.
Isn't it a manager's job to get the best deals and sound out who is interested? (and has therefore reached out to his contacts).
Doesn't mean Dwight is interested or spoke to LA or Dallas.
But remember the whole Parsons debacle. Their manager is a snake.
