Michael Chang had a huge following among the Asian-American fans, but alas, tennis being an individual sport did not face the same type of obstacles. Derek Nguyen...not sure why he doesn't get the recognition and attention that he deserves. Maybe it's because he's a defensive player and wears a helmet covering his face. Women's golf. 'Nuff said. Tiger Woods...half the world doesn't even know/think he's Asian.
Did I say "better"? I said they are different because of the roads they took to get to the NBA. And that Lin, by virtue of being American and facing the same racial discrimination that many of us did growing up, was more inspirational to the Asian-American community because we can identify with him more. I mean...Michael Jordan inspired tons of people, but I wouldn't say Asian-Americans identified with his upbringing and the challenges he faced.
what's the difference between the asian kid in class who was born in california and the asian kid in class who's parent just immigrated to america? do they see yao ming and jeremy as different people? or do they see that one is really an all star and one is bench player on the hornets?

Houston, We got the problem. Rockets is sucking like a hoover to the point worse than Lin. We shouldn't talk about Lin because Rockets are embarrassing lately.
