So basically KD will leave OKC and WB to go to LAL because...in 1 year he can play with WB? Makes total sense lmao

as soon as Durant is in LA another star will follow shortly. Very shortly. They only need the first domino to fall. Now whether that's WB or someone else doesn't matter.

Yep. Every star is rumored to sign with LA yet it never happens. I think media and fans think loving and living in a city in the summer means more than it does. These are millionaires who travel most of the year for work and then they have the whole summer to go wherever they want. The thought that they have to live there year round is overrated. Hell, i think the Warriors have a bigger chance than the Lakers. If he wants an easy route to go to some storied franchise to win, why not just join a young dynasty in a beautiful city like San Francisco?

    Yeah that doesn't make sense.

Unless Durant really likes Randle and Russel...like the supporting cast will be worse in LA? The only way it makes sense is if Durant is really into being a Laker or if the Lakers will be acquiring some other big name along with Durant and try to work in Westbrook after.

I mean, it could happen. It'll be an interesting offseason either way.

Unless things really go south, I will be shocked if KD turns down the massive extra money and leaves OKC.

I used to believe there was a good chance he would walk, but the money to stay is just too much in light of the coming salary cap explosion.

Another alternative is he signs a one-year + option contract with OKC so he can really max out in 2017, when the cap is projected to be over $100 million.

KD ain't going to the Lakers.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Lakers get KD & Westbrook, but I'm assuming they'll have to make a fairly massive trade to get 1 more huge piece (Cousins) before a big name like KD commits.

I think it will ultimately be OKC, but who knows. Lakers & Knicks are always "in it", and I wouldn't be surprised if the Heat made a strong move too (doubtful though - would look too similar to Lebron). Rockets stand a chance with Harden, as well. Will be a very interesting offseason, certainly a critical one for Houston.

Every year the best free agent is rumored to go to the lakers.

I'll believe it when I see it.

I would go to the Lakers too if Jim Buss and Byron Scott are gone

Exactly. I imagine every decent NBA player has a house in La that he spends his summers at.

What people forget is that, during a work year, players spend three-quarters of their time in their team's city. That's, at most, eight and a half months if you go on to win the championship.

What the "Steph Curry to Charlotte!"-guys always fail to bring up is that Curry can spend part of June and all of July-to-September in his home state.

Hopefully both do leave and the Rockets can get Ibaka for cheap, he'd be perfect next to Dwight.

Once Kobe and his cap hit leaves LA, stars are more likely to sign with the Lakers. Kobe's presence is the biggest turnoff for the Lakers right now.

This is why I am getting nervous with their future after this year. They will have Kobe off the team and someone can come in there as the next big star. Kobe passes the torch.
