Glad he said it. . . its the truth He coaching for his life.. . . because for guys like him you don't get alot of chances to be the HC So to watch the Refs ***** you out of your chance. . . he needs to get more pissed Rocket River
Yeah because publicly criticizing the officials always works. He needs to look in the mirror. He's responsible for tonight now the refs.
I would love to know what are the odds that the Rockets bring in Thibodeau before the season is over? Or even after? I feel like he would be a fantastic coach here because he preaches defense and gets his players to buy in. Yeah he was not good on the offensive end but honestly I don't really think we need that here. I think our philosophy needs to change when it comes to shooting 3's and layups/dunks. I think that we need to open up the mid-range more and take those shots if they give them to us. We seriously need to get back into the top 10 in defense and with Bickerstaff as the coach I just don't see that happening.
And you're happy with medicority You may be a New Lin fan but you guys are delusional and don't know anything about basketball and you're no different than Old Lin fans
Show some respect... That's just pathetic. Fire the coach... Fire the coach... Fire the coach.... What else ya got?
Can't blame JBB for the woes of the rockets. Its stupid at this point. Mad respect for him rallying behind the players like that today.
I'm thinking they're waiting for the offseason to make the change, BUT the news of Brooklyn being heavily interested in Thibs may change some things. Who knows, the Rockets and Thibs may already have an agreement to a deal in the offseason. I'm sure the Rockets still have connections with him going back to his days as an assistant here.
After that rant I don't want to see him fired. I want more entertainment. I want to see the players play better too of course. I don't even think it's JB fault. The man is just doing the best he can given the situation.
Agreed. It's not his fault at all. There's a reason why Spurs disciples are filling out positions throughout the league - because they're learning from the best. How the hell do people blame JB when all he's learnt from in his professional career was McHale? Bump him back down to the assistant coaching staff this offseason with a competent head coach. Let the head coach decide who fills out the rest of the bench staff positions. Let him learn from a good head coach before you start throwing some flak his way.
His inability to incorporate a sound defensive strategy should be his undoing. The scheme is completely broken.
NBA basketball is a game of planning and adjustment....the latter is more important. The great coaches are able to succeed with lesser talent. This Rocket team looks great on paper, but fails to execute when it counts. that has got to be on the coach. In that regard, JB is no better than McHale...maybe worse. So Les needs to ask himself a couple of questions: is there any way this team makes the playoffs, and advances past the first round? If the answer is no, blow it up at the trade deadline. You'll never get a quality coach to join this team mid-year, but at the risk of looking flighty fire JB and promote Chris Finch (remember his record as head coach of the Vipers?). there are players on this squad who will not fit on the roster of a coach like Thibodeau or even Blatt, if that is the direction Les is headed, get rid of them at the trade deadline. Finally, Les may want to look at Morey. I am a fan, and I think he is a good GM...great trades for the rockets, and some quality finds in the late rounds of the draft. BUT, he has built a team of high-quality parts that don't fit together. Les should consider bringing in a consultant as 76ers did with Coangelo, not to take Morey's job but to oversee it. there are plenty of old school GMs out there that would take the gig as a short term or part time consultation.
JBB is not good for this team because Dwight and Harden are players that Popovich and Phil Jackson that can control them. Both players need an experience, strong-will coach to lead them, not a coach that is more talk than action. It is almost like we need a Mark Jackson over Steve Kerr because Stephen Curry doesn't need a coach (like Luke Walton) to win. For Dwight and Harden, we need a coach with characteristics of M.Jackson, Van Gundy, Rick Carlisle not the Kerr-type. Coaches that will play mind games with refs and not afraid to challenge players. Kerr is a great coach for letting Curry be what he is, but he would never be able to mesh Superhero and Beard together. We need a decision maker, not a care-taker.
Yeah it's not his fault. But it can't change the fact he is awful. I blame this on Rockets Organization.
He's cost Houston at least 5 games including the last 2 just because of his ****ing terrible lineups and rotations. He needs to get a clue and fast or this team will be fishing come playoff time and he will be looking for a job.
