ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Thunder 1/29/2016

This loss was on the refs - totally. Yes we missed on the 3's and choked on transition but we would have had a chance until the refs decided the game. It is getting harder and harder to watch these games with no REAL coach. If we make our shots we have a chance, but this game was decided by the refs.

I hope we play OKC, they can't win without cheating refs. Choklahoma is not anywhere near GS or Spurs, and they would get their ass kicked by the Cavs.

 

That's fair. I've tossed the notion of contending out the window for my own sanity. I just try to enjoy games where I can.

 

Why can't our players just get the heart of JVG and blatantly call out the bull***** officiating in the press conference.

That was just an absolutely abhorrent officiating performance tonight.

I have stopped getting overly excited and engaged watching Rockets games this season - but was utterly livid throughout the second half tonight.

 

From the posts I've seen, I'm glad I decided not to watch this game.
Couldn't bring myself to watch after that SA beat down.

Sounds like they at least didn't embarrass themselves tonight.
We get the "L" anyway, but we're leading the league in moral victories right?

 

Not trolling at all......how many games has DMO played in over the last season and a half ? Back problems ? OK. I do agree that he might be our best chance of winning IF we make the playoffs... because we currently have ZERO and I do mean ZERO inside game. It is either a slam dunk on a toss up or rebound put back. Postup ? Ahh, no. If telling it like it is means I'm bad then so be it.And, as bad as the officiating was tonight..it's not why we are losing games.

 

a few things:
if D12 doesn't get ejected, we win. this was a night where OKC looked like "durant+russ+a bunch of dudes" and the slower game, with D12 and even smoove in it disrupting the flow worked in our favor. i mean, we pulled within two possession at about 1:30, we almost did it anyway.
the officiating was terrible. both techs were equally weak imo, but especially that second one. absolutely no reason to eject someone for that. i understand how the tendency is to "punish" the person who retaliates, but that's such a weak move from dwight that absolutely doesn't merit ejection.
woulda coulda shoulda, the point is, rox played hard and mostly played well. some of the rotations just didn't make any sense, though. and if bev and lawson are gonna be hurt, why let terry just ride the pine for four quarters? at least he could have shot some threes. it's a frustrating game but also an enjoyable one, at least. durant+RWB did what they had to, especially after D12 went out.
and the mediocre season continues...

If our players and coach do not care enough to tell the truth, why should we get mad about the refs? Pussified team..

 

Troy Daniels would have been very useful for this game...

 

One of the Rockets' flaws fully-flawed last night. We're not a good FT% team - 27th in the league at 71.0%. Tonight we shot 62%... seemed worse, but still even below our own standard.

Another flaw.. not being a good 3PT% team. Last night, not only did we not shoot three's non-good, we shot them extra non-good (23.1%). Terrible. Plus, we shot 39 attempts.

Good thing.. we've reduced our turnovers lately. Having only 10 last night kept an extra 8-12 points from OKC's tally.

 

In JB rotation, he would play 0 mins just like Jason Terry this game.

 

Good point. If they don't care at all, why fans get mad at.

Golden state will pummel us if we play 3 point shooting contest with them.

 

This game is on the refs. Dwight doesn't foul out, we win the game. They seemed to have it out for our guys from the beginning. Josh's shot looked better but Marcus has gone completely ice cold, we get those two shooting consistently and we'll be in every game. Also why no Jet tonight? We could've used his shot tonight

 

I've watched a lot of OKC this season and if people complain about James Harden initiating contact on drives to create fouls they need to watch Westbrook. Westbrook fakes contact, flales his arms, throws his head back and gets the call every single time. He and Durant seem to have a nightly competition on who can flop the best. Also Westbrook chases triple doubles and it sometime takes them out of games some nights but other nights they beat the brakes off of everyone mainly because Durant is so damn consistent. I have never seen him have an off night. But as good as the are offensively they are wildly inconsistent defensively especially defending the post which makes me question John Blair's lineups. 13 minutes for Jones, 15 for Smoove?
