The Rockets should really have a shooting drill before they can get on the plane. Guards/Swingmen + Smith have to make 10 threes in a row before they can board the plane.. Big men have to make 20 contact layups in row before they can board the plane. EVERYONE has to make 15 free throws in a row before they can board the plane. JB has to call timeouts on time before he can board the plane. I don't care if we only bring Harden, Terry and Ariza and Howard to OKC.
That is why someone should forward him an ultimatum.... Either you get Durant or an equally good player or you are about to be fired. Almost getting Bosh is not good enough It is harsh but it's business and not a family dinner.
Rockets just need to win enough to play the Clippers in the First Round and hope they can play em close like the do nowadays and get to the 2nd round And then roll whatever hand they get against the GSW.... I really just dont want the Rockets to have a competitive series and at the 7th seed it wont be
Are you that stupid? If the Rockets are put off by hacking, then they are in for a long season with zero chance in the playoffs Rockets are ripe for the hacking strategy with pathetic FT shooters like Howard, Capela, Josh SMith
JB should have tried to been kicked out this game. Not like he was coaching anyway. Might as while make a statement to the team.
he got harden, howard, ariza, lawson, smoove he's a good GM it's like... what if next year you somehow managed to trade for KAT, curry, AD, Durant, and Harden. But they all started to suck. You can't blame the GM for that. At some point you gotta hold the stars/coach responsible. I think the problem is that the league is figuring out one way players, no matter how good, are just not as good as a team of less talented, but two way players. Dwight is mostly defense. Harden is obviously purely offense. Ariza is mostly defense. Lawson is purely offense. And TJones is a no way player. High IQ, two way players. That's what we need. And one superstar two way player, like Hakeem.
Rockets just panic too easily. They don't have strong backbone or leadership. When things get hard, they will usually crumble. Last years' team had so much more heart and grit. We need to find that.
Exactly. And yes, I play a ton of NBA 2k, and that was exactly my point. In 2k, you can plug in the numbers, get your ratings, put guys with high ratings together, and you'll win. But real basketball doesn't work like that. You need guys that actually know how to play together, and you need a coach that can coach them. Last paragraph is where I'm at completely as well. I've always defended Morey. But this season finally has me at a breaking point with him. First of all, I've never seen a team built around the 3 point shot that shoots it so poorly. The only truly legit 3 point shooter on this team is ancient (Terry) and the other decent one (Thornton) is incredibly streaky and is more a scorer than a 3 point shooter. Morey is not a coach. I could NEVER see that fat ass playing basketball, nor could I see him on the sidelines coaching. He's a really good, smart, front office guy. He's great at evaluating the numbers and piecing them together, but he's been awful at finding 3 point shooters and defenders. For a team that's supposed to be a lot of 3 and d, we really suck at both. Morey either gets a coach and works with him, or he needs to be canned.
The only thing I fault morey for is the coaching situation but that might not really be his fault either. Ya we made it to the wcf but it was obvious in the offseason we needed a coaching change to maybe get over the hump. Now we are stuck with the defensive coordinator giving up almost the most points in the league
Thornton's shot has been broken since that Clipper's game. Even in the OT of that game, his shot fell off the planet. We need to find more consistent shooters. If Morey isn't calling NOP for Anderson every minute of the day, he isn't doing his job.
