Back injuries smh. I think he will be back before playoffs. But till then we need to get Harrell in our system and stop throwing him down in the D-league.
Yes he is, in team context - he is better than Smith - they offer similar things to this team. A big that can create for others and moves off the ball. Smith is a better rebounder, shot blocker, and dribbler. Dmo is a better shooter, positional defender, and is a true post option. But they both make the team better overaall. DD
Very true. DMo, when healthy, is just a much better version of Smith. When we started the season without either Smith or DMo, the negative impact was clear. Smith is a great fit and a very solid stopgap, but think about the possibilities with BOTH Smith & DMo - 48 minutes of playmaking ability and solid defense at the 4. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if DMo will ever be the same. Have we even heard anything about his current injury?
Smoke in mirrors around here. Dmo is not on the same level as Josh. Will he be one day, probably so but right now, no sir. I know some fans have a great deal of love for the young man. But let the man at least play a few more years' of NBA level basketball before saying he's this and that. Expectation has a tendency of clouding a fans judgement from time to time. And if he continues to suffer with this back injury, he would be a "could have been player".
He's a max player right now and he'd be a star if the coaches weren't dumb and Morey wasn't showcasing Jones.
Donatas doesn't help his team very much because he is seldom healthy and really cannot be counted on. At some point fans will just accept "I will believe it when I see it."
Donatas has done nothing to deserve a max contract. He works hard and has a skill set that can make him an important rotational player; but he isn't healthy, he is a horrible rebounder.
Just saw this on my Facebook news feed: NBA Buzz Detroit Pistons are interested in Donatas Motiejunas, according to Zach Lowe of The Lowe Post podcast.
According to his great fan support for sure. They're probably blowing up Morey twitter inbox on how he needs to pay him the max. And how he's doing a great job in hiding him from other teams by faking this back injury. hahaha
So is he being held out until Feb15th or whenever deadline day is to showcase TJ? So maury cares more about trading TJ than winning now?
This is just so stupid, it is mind numbing. He has had ONE injury and is recovering.....just idiotic, that people leap to him being injury prone because they don't like him. DD
Yeap. My people had told me Detroit was highly interested about a month ago. Raptors and Spurs are also keeping on eye on this young man.
He had a major injury that has kept him from playing basketball for almost a full NBA season in total. He has only produced at a NBA level for a partial season. There are more questions regarding DMo at this point.
He has had 3 years in the NBA - THREE, not one.....and he has been out since April.......with one injury. Meanwhile, Dwight missed 41 games last year, same as Jones.... And he had a MINOR procedure - muscle soreness is what D Morey said, will be back soon is what D Morey said. DD
