Codman: Also said we're looking for a creator guard and big man Ronnie Price is the obvious guess for guard, but he just had foot surgery...out for a month.
Not when he's healthy. He's a great pieces fit next to Harden. Great defender who turns over the opponent a ton. He's a better defender than Bev and he's money from distance. He's better than Bev and he frees us to move Bev and his contract out along with other assets/parts for something special. I'm all for Ronnie Price and PJ Tucker. Right contracts. Right kind of players, especially if we can move out Ariza and Bev together.
Yeah sounds like Price and Tucker. Price seems awful, averaging 37-30 for his career on FG and 3pt percentages. I don't see how he's an upgrade to any of our current guards. Tucker is a really tough and solid defensive forward though, and he's a solid catch and shoot player as well, he would be nice off the bench player to replace Brewer(or even Ariza if he ends up being traded). Perhaps Lawson and Jones for Kieff, Tucker and Price is my guess.
I like Smart a lot and I think he would be a nice fit with Houston but IMO Bradley would be an even better fit next to Harden. But I would be thrilled with either one. Would give up anyone not named Harden, Dwight, Ariza, DMO and Smoove for either one.
Me too for Smart. Wouldn't give up all that for Bradley. But would trade for Bradley provided we could move Bev and another long-term salary out.
The Rockets need to make a couple of moves to fit its team identity. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=zhgh2pm HOU OUT: Terrence Jones, Corey Brewer HOU IN: Patrick Patterson, PJ Tucker TOR OUT: Patrick Patterson TOR IN: Markieff Morris PHX OUT: Markieff Morris PHX IN: Terrence Jones, Corey Brewer If you're gonna take so many 3's, actually get guys who can make them. Tucker is a 2 way upgrade over Brewer, whose skills include running around like a crackhead with moderate control of body and/or ball, and 2Pat replaces one of the hardest players in the league to watch (and perennial crappy chucker), Terrence Jones. Good thing PHX is desperate lol.
Although I would love to have PP back, not seeing it as they're playing well and winning their division last time I checked. Ryan Anderson is who I want. I wonder if a combination of Lawson + DMo or Jones (preferably Jones of course) would work? Maybe add Dekker or McDaniels?
See if DM can fleece Portland for C.j. McCollum !!! http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=hp2euo5
Athletic combo guard, great on ball defender, not that high basket ball IQ, 3D guy... I would love to get Him to Houston!!!
How can you possibly see Ryan Anderson coming here after all the reports saying he isnt going to be traded, but you cant see patpat coming?
You can't deny Morris offers much higher upside than Patterson, and they have a hole at the 4 spot considering the core they have at every other position. If they want to contend, they have to take chances on talented players, and a team environment like Toronto should get the best out of Markieff.
So does this mean that the Rockets won't go after a good named PF now? Does it mean either TJ or DMO along with Lawson gets traded in a package for a really good pt guard? Right now there is a log jam of PFs though DMO is still out.
