if les is able to get back under the lux tax via late season trade again (for what, the 13th time in 22yrs?) then does that mean we can use those windfall savings to pay for a real head coach? as a reasonable fan, i'm willing to sacrifice and accept a slightly lesser coach for the team in order to leave some margin for les to be able to still acquire a few pairs of socks for his bereft wardrobe

That they will, my brother....but, "if he makes the team"...:p

It is precisely in these situations, surrounded by great coaching AND his peers..the best ballers, that he is ACES. It shouldn't take that, but hopefully this combined with somebody like Thibs at the helm next year..and his maturation...

We usually have 2 of these bigs on the floor at the same time, yes it would be money all day if it was

    Howard + Anderson (etc)
    Capela + Anderson (etc)

It's different options, as a pg

    1. throw the alley off the pick
    2. pull up off the pick
    3. throw it to your PF for a shot
    4. Drive in fake pass to C then layup

--- with our plates we have now these options don't be there

That's why getting someone like Thibs is key. A prominent coach that can attract free agents.

Thibs...prominent? I imagine players look at the carcass that is Rose, that is Noah and question their interest, nay willingness, to sign up for boot camp.

I don't know who 'that' coach is but it ainta TT. KMc was likely an attraction. How 'bout...Kobe? Nah, just Kidd-in'.

Y'know what's even funnier? The fact that people don't realize that a large part of why Lawson is under-performing is because of Harden's selfishness. He talked a lot in the off season about being able to play off ball, but it was just that - all talk.

There is no way Lawson could become this bad compared to last year when he didn't even get any injuries. Blame Harden and the coaching staff first and foremost, and then blame Lawson partially.

Ty, Ariza, Trez, and a 2nd round pick for Love & Dellavedova.

I would wager a large amount of money that Henson has much more trade value than Lawson and I'm pretty certain Henson is more "untouchable" than Monroe.

I don't get what the Bucks are doing with Henson, how does he only get 15-20 mpg if he's such a solid defender and fits with the team much better? They signed him to a big contact extension and he is still burried getting very limited PT.

He has more value than Lawson because Lawson's value is basically almost zero. He's not that untouchable as you think and Monroe will only get traded if the team is awful this year and the braintrust of the teams thinks it's because of Monroe. But I find it highly unlikely. Unless next year the team is bad as well and Monroe makes it clear he will opt out and leave for nothing.
He's not an amazing defender. He's ok. He's an elite shotblocker though.
He doesn't start because he's incosistent and has let's say some motivational issues. He has been given the chance to start for the past two years. He didn't take it. He lost his starting spot to Zaza.
He has failed to develop more skills and he has failed to put on more muscle for four years now. He still has only one hand. Basically the only improvement is his free throws.
One time he can look like a DPOY and another a scrub. Heck one quarter to the next. But in the playoffs he was amazing. He just needs to be motivated most of all.
Right now he alternates to Monroe depending on what the team needs. When you need defence you put in Henson and vice versa.
And that's why he's not available and will never get traded for Lawson. Because the centers give something different to the team and they are both needed.

Seriously, this thread has some bizzar homers. The only way to get Giannis would be to give up Harden. The Bucks wouldn't want anyone else.

"Bizarre" is the correct spelling. Carry on. As in, "bizarre homers."
