Go to the shelter bro, seriously. You got a good heart, go find one at the shelter. Treat him/her great.
there is probably a lab rescue group in your city or area. give one of them a chance! why do you want AKC papers? are you looking to breed or something? and dewclaw...do you mean de-claw? if so, that is not something i have ever heard of doing to a dog, especially a large breed one. i would hope a vet would refuse to do that...im not even a fan of cat declawing.
Don't mean to bother you, but doesn't declawing dogs give them arthritis, balance issues and really mess up now they walk as they get older? I know you probably have kids that your looking out for but perhaps considering not declawing it if it already hasn't been done to the animal. There is also things called soft paws and its little rubber coats that you put on the dogs nails to prevent harm to your children of scratches in you household.
I have a friend who just had Choc lab puppies, email me sealfab@gmail.com and I can get you in contact with her
Giving OP the benefit of the doubt, and I'm going to assume he meant this: http://www.dogingtonpost.com/all-about-your-dogs-dewclaws/ http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/why-remove-a-dogs-dewclaw.html
Nice catch, didn't see it said dew-claw. Read it as de-claw. Not sure how necessary that is, but it certainly doesn't seem nearly as harmful to a dog as de-clawing would be. Sorry for the confusion.
Curious to why you say this? I know nothing about that industry so I'm seriously asking. I'm looking into getting a dog and I'm thinking laberdoodle. I was looking them up on a site and they're going for 2,800+! Right in the kisser!!
More like 10%. That's why you don't buy from a pet store. Most breeders care a lot about the dogs & the health of the breed in general.
