Yes, it's basically picks to get him open and he is given freedom to do whatever he wants. No sense of urgency, just walk the ball up, dribble, dribble. The refs aren't calling the fouls he would normally have gotten in the past seasons.
He played well in the 4th. The possessions at the end of both the 1st and 2nd quarters where we could've gotten the last shot or close to it but Harden turns it over and it leads to buzzerbeater jumpers by Courtney Lee on the other side were very smh-worthy.
Congratulations Harden in leading this team to a game over .500! All criticism directed at you is now officially unwarented.
this... wouldn't have this glorious site without it... brings the trolls, lifers, LOFers, LOHers, etc. all together
It's not like he draws the best opposing defender EVERY NIGHT. Or defenses shade your every move. I get it, it's the cool thing to b**** about Harden around here. At least do it in a game where he didn't defend or hustle.
I'm not going to call the fans here bad because try do care about the team. But I will say we have some dumb fans. Hardens positives far out weight his negatives. He's still one of the top 5-7 players in the game. The whole team has under performed this year and harden deserves the lions share of the blame because he gets all the headlines when we win but if and when we do turn this thing around he will be at the forefront of the revival. The one thkng that gets me is the ppl on this board who claim harden is a bad playmaker. He's having a iffy couple of games the past couple but his playmaking is what won us the pacers game. He created literlly every score of an assist or hockey assist down the stretch in the 4th and overtime. That was magic we can't have it both ways and claim he's a big fat negative with his passing but makes winning plays with his playmaking that not many players in the league can make especally at the 2 guard position.
there's nothing wrong w/ the op. he had the right observation. these were fundamental mistakes by a bball player. jbb and ariza failing to call timeouts 2 games in a row also came to mind when i was writing this...
It's more than just one player though, the team as a whole makes a lot of silly mistakes. I use to yell a lot at the screen but recently I think I've gotten that under control. I yell maybe once a game.
Jonathan Feigen -- http://www.houstonchronicle.com/spo...-hole-in-Grizzlies-defense-to-win-6755034.php Harden on settling down after getting 5 TOs in first half + 3 minutes into the second. "I was getting a little bit too passive, and that was causing turnovers," Harden said. "Just trying to be too unselfish instead of looking for my shots. I tried to do that in the second half and made some shots. "They are a really good defensive team when we stand still. When we moved the ball, attacked the paint and kicked out, we shot layups and open 3s." He certainly does force the issue a lot, plus lazy passes, plus his inexplicable falling down/stripped on ISOs (which didn't happen much last year). Fockass, be aggressive and let the game come to you, as well.
You play with a clock in pick up games? I have a feeling the only thing you are picking up is another beer and a slice of pizza.
If you guys don't notice how Harden looks to make some dumb ass passes between 2 defenders and turning it over about close to 100% of his attempts, then you aren't really watching the games. He did the damn thing 3 times in a row 2 games ago and each one ended up in a easy turnover/fastbreak. Not to mention trying to ISO during the last few seconds and losing the ball between his legs trying to dribble around his man. How many times have we've seen that? IIRC, Jason Terry took over the PG duties and actually ran some plays and got us a couple of points instead of everyone waiting for Harden to turn it over on some dumb play again in that game after he committed those 3 turnovers. Harden can be really dumb with the ball sometimes and it shows in his turnover rate. That's a fact. If you don't see it, then you're not really paying attention to him.
