Singer Warren Zevon Dies After Battle with Cancer NEW YORK (Reuters) - Warren Zevon, the singer known for such hits as "Werewolves of London," died on Sunday at his home in West Hollywood after a battle with cancer, his record company said on Monday. Zevon, 56, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer a year ago and was only expected to live about three months, completed his last recording "The Wind" and lived to see it debut at No. 16 on the Billboard album charts -- his best record launch in years. Danny Goldberg, chief executive of Artemis Records in New York which released his latest records, said, "I was told by his son that he passed away yesterday ... in his apartment in West Hollywood, peacefully in his bed." ---
RIP. If any of you have not purchased his new CD "The Wind", I highly recommend it. There is a tune called "Disorder in the House" with Bruce Springsteen sitting in on it that just rocks like crazy. Warren Zevon will be missed. One of the most clever lyricists of all time.
Now I'm biding in Honduras I'm a desperate man Send lawyers, guns and money The **** has hit the fan, For the last time, Thanks for the music.
I'd never heard of this guy until I saw him on Lettermen for the entire show. I'll have to listen to some of his stuff someday. Any songs in particular that I should look up? RIP, Warren.
