He is looks very polished out there tonight. He really looks like has mastered the game, he can read defenses, throw the ball hard as hell, he's difficult to sack because he just won't go down unless you get a solid hit on him, he's tougher than a brick sh-thouse on steroids and plays through all kinds of pain, and he's a team guy.

I wish he was playing QB for the oilers still. :(

But anyway, if I have to pick one QB right now, I might take him over anybody else in the league at this point. I'd rank him on the plateau with Favre, Vick, McNabb as a top 5 guy, but I think he's superior to all of them for various reasons.

How old is he now? Like 40?

    Michael Vick is better!

Uhh, no he's 30, in other words he's the same age where most QB's reach their peak.

McNair reminds me alot of John Elway. The way he scrambles to buy time and then throws to a wide open receiver. He'd be one of my favorite players, but he's a Titan, so forget that.

McNair has gotten a lot better in the last two years, IMO, compared to what he was before; however, Vick is quicker and faster and I think has just as good or better arm than McNair.

Now, Steve has shown that he can play through pain, something that Vick has not been able to do yet.

I think that it is too early to call MV the best QB in the NFL, but he will be in the next couple of seasons.

As for the present, I include McNair with McNabb, Vick, Culpepper, and yes, ancient Rich Gannon as the 5 best QBs in the NFL for NOW. Yet, I can't say that any one of these guys is a clear cut choice as the best QB in the NFL.

I didn't want to put Gannon up there because of his horrific super bowl. THe biggest game of his life and he played like ass.

I also don't like him that much cause it seems like all he does is throw 5 yard curls and out patterns and screens.

That might be one of the worst calls I have ever seen, and I am a Titans fan!

on an unrelated note, I am going to commit crimes If I have to listen to Maguire and Theisman blather on for 17 games. this year.

I HATE paul maguire. I have HATED him for 10 years. He is loud obnoxious, he doesn't know anything, he was a mediocre linebacker/punter for gods sake, and he is in love with the sound of his own voice.

It is a two man race between him and dierdorf as to who I hate more.

He is the best QB right now. When Vick gets back and rolling I say McNair will be 2nd. I like the QBS that can scramble so thats why they're 1 and 2 imo.... One scary thought is the Titans winning the SuperBowl in Houston, its very likely this Tennessee team looks very solid and the AFC is pretty much up for grabs.

McNair with a perfectly timed bootleg. Somewhere Steve Grogan is smiling.

Wow... That was THE worst officiated game I have EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE.

Something needs to change with the way these NFL games are officiated... this is not cutting it at all, teams are not getting treated fairly.

I have a lot of respect for Steve McNair... but Mason did not catch that TD, he was not going to land in bounds.

Of Course Rich Gannon played like ass in the super bowl Sam.

HMMMMMMM, let's see, how would you like to play football when the guys on the other side of the field know exactly what you are going to do and exactly how to stop it?

Rich Gannon is the reigning MVP of this league, and he is the toughest QB I have ever seen. HE GOT HIS KNEE TAKEN OUT, and then goes 5-5 right down the field (with his only speed weapon at WR out for the game) and directs a perfect TD drive.

Take away that absolute HORSE**** Pass interference call on Woodson and we might have had a chance.

    Final - Oakland 20 Tennessee 18 (+Refs 7)

Steve McNair aside, what is the fascination with scrambling quarterbacks? Have they ever won anything? Vick is known for his amazing scramling ability more than his passing ability right now - imo, until that changes, and he becomes a great quarterbacks who is also an amazing scrambler, he won't be the best in the league.

Are you saying Michael Vick doesn't have any passing skills? He has an amazing arm, and he can make plays with his arm as easily as with his feet. This guy is an amazing passer, there is a reason Michael Vick was the #1 pick overall and Charlie Ward wasn't drafted.

You sound like a cross between a bitter old woman and The Cat.

It wasn't a TD. But I am pretty sure it was pass interference.

Look what Vick did to the Falco's last season, there was very little talent there and they had one of the best offenses out there and he carried his team to the divisonal playoffs. The thing that is great about a scrambling QB is that they dont need a ton of talent surronded by them. The classic drop back passer needs talent surrounded by him than the offense can grow. Put in a player like Vick and McNabb your good from the start. Who do these guys have on offense? Nobody but they always put points on the board.Ya they havent won anything yet but thats unfair considiring that scrambling Qb's are something fairly new aside from Randel Cunningham. Though McNair has an AFC championship, Donovan has appeared in 2 NFC title games and Vick took the Falcons to the playoffs in his first full season as the starter. So they're defintley cracking on the door.

I'm saying Vick sticks out as a scrambler first, a passer second. He probably has the skills to be one of the best passers in the league, too, but at this point I don't think he is. To me, it doesn't matter what kind of amazing stuff he can do with his arm or legs, Gannon is just as effective running his little 5 yard curls - my opinion though.

If You can't even see the ball on the replay then it sure as hell was uncatchable, and the Titans line was holding as much as I have ever seen. No matter, Cincinatti next week, time to take out some frustration.

It was only uncatchable because he was held up. If it had been a matter of their feet getting caught up, like the announcers originally thought, then yes I would agree it wasn't, but because Woodson gave him the arm bar and appeared to hold him up the ref usually will call it Interference unless the ball was thrown about 5 rows up in the stands.
