Various legitimate press reports have indicated the following 'kids' are on the (trading) block: Sheed, Patterson, Demon (sic) Harrington, Artest, Bender Antoine Walker Jones, Grant Drobniak (for a sign and trade) Atkins, Williamson Mt Mutombo, K-Mart Thomas, Ward Snow, McKie Redd, Mason, Mason Who would make the best fit for the Rox (for the presumed 'best' price)? Sheed is the most talented, but he's got lots of baggage -- and would probably require being escorted out of town with Patterson. Harrington and Artest are appealing. Drobniak, in the right sign and trade, makes sense to me (with Barry and James for Rice and EG?). Anyone want it to Snow? Come on, who fits best right here in Bayou City?
The positive think about sheed is that his contract comes of the books next year (i think).. I would consider trading for sheed, as long as we didnt have to give up any of our core players... I really am not going to try to put a trade together... All i know i would trade for sheed becuz of his contract coming of the boox... Would that help us at all anyway?
Eric Snow and Desmond Mason would solve all our problems. Snow could play the PG, allowing Steve to play more 2. I assume that the Cat has to be raded in one of these deals, so Francis, Mason, and Pike make up the minutes at the 2, with Mason starting at the 3. If Philly are convinced through the Olympic games that Iverson is ready to go back to playing more PG, and that McKie is a viable backup, then it's possible we can lure Snow for Mobley, who may also be able to play some PG at times. The Bucks would want a big player though. Mobley for Snow and a first round pick Cato or MoT (their choice) for Desmond Mason and Caffey Yao/Cato Griffin/Caffey Mason/Rice/Boki/Griffin Francis/Mason/Pike Snow/Francis/Moochie PF would be our main problem after this, but we'd be more than ready to trade Rice for a PF at this point.
Our team needs toughness. It needs a shooter. It needs a wing that can connect Francis and Ming. It needs a steady hand in the backcourt to help Francis with 2 guard picks and options or 1 guard set ups. toughness : Artest, Thomas, Grant, Kmart Shooter : M.Redd Wing : Harrington, Sheed, SAR, Artest, DMase, Walker Francis backcourt helpmate : 2s - Artest, Jones, D.Mase 1s - Atkins, Snow, Ward Whoever you pick, you redirect the triangle of the offensive flow. You are choosing how to get the ball in and out and what kind of play to run when you choose players. When making a choice, remember the strengths and weaknesses of our stars Someone else fill these in : Francis - Ming - Then try to complement that.
Sorry...several weeks of various newspaper reports and online columns on espn and sporting news. Too many too varied -- all in so called 'legitimate or popular press'. hoopsworld, basketball.com and their ilk are not legitimate.
Are you sick? I know almost everyone here hates Mobley but I wouldn't do that deal. Snow can't score if his life depended on it. He can play good defense but that's about it. Maybe Moochie and Rice for Snow but I wouldn't give up Mobley for a scrub.
U know, i wouldnt mind seeing Francis play the 2, but Cat for Snow will not cut it. Snow can pass and play D, but will not even come close to making up the 19 that Cat drops on most nights. U think our offense struggled last year, wait til we lose our 2nd best scorer. Even if we get Mason, I am not sure if we are not better off w/ just Cat and Cato.....actually we are.
I've seen all of these at espn & sporting news, and some at si and realgm front page. Also sporting news lists Cat as "being shopped" in latest print edition (free! thank you freebizmagazines.com).
We are trying to get into the playoffs not get away from them... Trading Mobley for Snow is like making us a worst team.... Bottom Line TRADE REJECTED..
I sincerely doubt Snow and McKie are on the block. They're just too important to the Sixers, and I doubt any trades will go down before Ayers even coaches a game. And I don't think he'll try to move AI to the point.
Probably K-mart...and i would stay away from antoine walker he is a joke, just a poor man's cuttino mobley if you ask me.
