Actually you can lose a lot more than just a ticket for a concert or sporting event, and money for drinks at a bar.
Isle of Capri. Also to everyone above that think I'm going with the sole intention of winning money I'm not haha. Just want to feel the thrill of gambling, I know I'm 95% likely to lose all the initial money I bring.
If you are going for entertainment, go to the nugget. Capri is just old people with oxygen tanks. There's eye candy at the Nugget. But the tables are more expensive.
Of course the odds are stacked against you - it doesn't mean you're burning money. If you play $5 Blackjack or $5 Craps and only bet the basics, you can easily get hours of entertainment for $50-$100 (along with free drinks). How is that any different than spending $40 to play golf or $20 to go to a movie or $50 to go to an NBA game or whatever else? Entertainment is entertainment.
1. Go to the casino 2. Have a budget say $100 3. Look at it as entertainment and see how long you can survive with the $100 4. Order as many free drinks if that's your thing 5. Leave casino and go to the nearest night club already feeling good Conclusion: You'd drop $100 easily at one of the top night clubs in Vegas to get the same good feeling that you already got at the casino for the same amount plus some entertainment and a chance (however small it may be) to win some money
Go in knowing how much you're willing to lose and bring a little extra on top. Don't go into the ATM! You're there for fun, not to get revenge on any losses you had earlier. -Blackjack -Roulette -Poker -Slots That's basically all I'll ever play.
we should get the draft brehs out for a Vegas trip. Roll call! -LCA -FTW -RedRed -thething -Donatas -Tizzle -Spooner -JMC -Horry -Jamers -Oleman -BigM who else?
Sorry brehs. I only play high stakes. 100k minimum buy in. On a serious note, thanks everyone for the advice. Looking forward to losing $100 in 5 minutes and stumbling around the casino sad and drunk. Not even drunk I guess because I didn't sit long enough to get free drinks lmao.
Lol at idea of throwing crazy money away and losing ability to donate to charity, **** man you don't have to be a ****ing high roller to have fun... Have some control (obviously I know addiction is hard thing, so... if you have problem obviously different). Anyway easy play and drinks at poker, shoot man with $100 at 1-2 nl and as a decent player... can make that last forever, you won't earn the food comps as quick but will still get drinks just the same and can actually leave with money (have more control vs blackjack). I mean I know for some people poker isn't their game... but it's great because the house isn't involved since they're happy with the rake, and you definitely have better odds/control, obviously you won't make/lose the money as fast as craps/blackjack (I mean unless action is crazy), but I like cards. I might be the exception though... I play a lot and track wins/losses, and guys I play regularly with are considering changing pro. These guys are killing it though... One of my friends has averaged 200k annually (and that's accounting for fees/losses etc) over the last few years, I do quite well but not like that.
Yes, he travels to the bigger tournaments though, this guy will take weeks of vacation to travel to various wsop stops.
No no no. You don't have to spend thousands of dollars. Most people who go to the casino are low rollers that spend very little. If you know what game to play and how to play it, then the casino will have about a 1% advantage over the player. That's not a very big advantage, and there's a pretty good chance you will win money or lose a small amount. Going to the casino can be some good cheap entertainment. Black jack, craps, and video poker are your best bets, as long as you know how to play the game.
Obviously that's different than cash games I was talking about, those are nice though since you can leave anytime if you aren't a serious poker player. Tournament play is definitely where the bigger money is, I mean unless you're playing with a huge stack...
The people that win at gambling don't think about the money. If you go in saying I have 500 to lose. That's exactly what you are going to lose. If you say my budget is 1000, guess what you'll be a 1000 lighter at the end of it. The money has to be irrelevant to the thought process. As soon as you start thinking about how much you are going to lose, it's over.
Don't do it. Don't do it. You'll probably end up playing blackjack and making a lot of money. That attracts attention; a lot of unwanted attention especially from attractive young women. Because of your earnings you'll get comped (complimented) with a high-roller suite, and end up having a three some with two very attractive 20-somethings. But it will all be FOR YOUR MONEY and not who you are as a person. You can thank me later.
If you play craps and limit yourself to the minimum pass line bet and throw down an odds bet once a point has been hit you can hang out at the table for hours and more than likely stay about even.
Using a print out of black jack strategy is fine. There is also video blackjack too. If you don't want to do the print out, then practice on this website a bit and you should have it down. http://www.blackjackinstitute.com/store/practice_software.php
