i think it is because our guards ge beaten every time off dribble penetration mening the big has to give help.. obviously this creates a mismatch every time unless you have draymobd green guarding the pick and roll

How does trapping a PnR create a mismatch?

I guess Lawson was supposed to help with these traps. He can hurt teams when this happens.

Didn't read thread so not sure if anyone mentioned this, but the Warriors and Spurs are great defensive teams because they know how to switch, double team, and rotate. Green isn't just doing man defense. Barnes or Andre will come to help double if he needs it and Klay rotates to the free guy on offense, and they just keep rotating perfectly. Basically until they force a turn over or bad shot that either goes in or out. It works on mediocre offenses, but idk if it will work on elite offenses.

Rockets should be able to do this since all our guys are pretty long and athletic. Beverley, Brewer, Ariza, Dmo, Jones, Capela, and Dwight. We SHOULD be an elite defensive team, but guys are just undisciplined when it comes to defense. Even James should be able to do this despite being a poor man defender. Even James should be able to do something like this.

But in order to do it you need team chemistry and a bunch of reps doing it. Something I don't think they do. They forgot how to do it consistently because I've seen them do it times this season.

Is it just me or DMo is double teaming too much? He's counting on Jones or whomever to rotate and help DMo while DMo helps someone else. Lack of discipline is great way to put it, like oogie boofie did. The things that DMo is doing makes me think that we literally can do whatever on defense, there aren't any strict rules of what we should do. Anything we do on defense is good for the coaches it seems.

Pretty annoying that Harden sacrifices the hell out of his body on offense driving relentlessly getting pushed around, throwing his body around to get a foul, falling to the floor constantly..

But when it comes to defense? You can't say he's soft because of the way he plays on offense. The unnecessary amount of effort needed to play his brand of offense. But fight through a screen? That doesn't even take bball iq or an understanding of defense. It's just effort.

Didn't read your post, and not sure if you mentioned it. but would it be easier to not switch on possessions where Harden is one of the defenders?

Bigger question today is will Harden take Kawhi or Ariza.
