thats really sad. ------------------ May I have another Snowball Clutch? Please may I? Ill be a good little mole.... I promise.
On the bright side.... He can't even begin to compare to the rip-off that Zydrunas Ilgauskas has become. I think someone calculated that Ilgauskas has been paid almost $700,000 per game over the past 4 years or something. ------------------ "what if my aunt had balls?" -- in one fell swoop, bbs member verse expresses his dislike of "what if" scenarios and shows he has far too much idle time on his hands.
The difference is that when Ilgauskas is healthy he's one of the top 5 centers in the league. ------------------ The Rockets will be the NBA champions. Believe.
I must've blinked... when was he healthy? Oh wait, I remember those couple of games earlier this year. ...besides, when Cato's healthy, he's going to lead the league in rebounding! ------------------ "what if my aunt had balls?" -- in one fell swoop, bbs member verse expresses his dislike of "what if" scenarios and shows he has far too much idle time on his hands. The sad thing is, he was healthy longer than Cato. But when Cato gets back, he's gonna look like Bill Russel's long-lost twin brother. ------------------ The Rockets will be the NBA champions. Believe.
Kelvin Cato is injured and there is nothing he can do about it. Most people are harsh on someone who is injured. They say things like that player should be traded. I have two examples of people being harsh on Rocket players that were injured earlier this year and they are Carlos Rogers and Hakeem Olajuwon. When Carlos Rogers was injured a lot of people were saying we should cut or trade him. When he was activated, he exploded for 22 points and 11 rebounds against the Cleveland Cavaliers on January 2, 2001. After that game everyone was talking about how good Carlos Rogers is. When someone is injured people do not realize how great that person is. When Hakeem Olajuwon suffered that injury that took him out for twelve games most people had trade scenarios for him. People were saying that he should retire, he no longer has skills and Houston is not a great fit for him. The first game Olajuwon returned from his injury was not as good as he usually plays, but that happens when someone is returning from an injury. Olajuwon had only two points on 1-4 shooting in that game. However, Olajuwon contributed on the defensive end as he blocked three shots and stole the ball two times. He also had seven rebounds in just 18 minutes. Olajuwon's second game was better. In that game he scored 17 points on 7-10 field goal attempts and 3-5 on free-throws, stole the ball three times and blocked one shot in 22 minutes of playing time. In his last three games Olajuwon has played as he is accustomed to playing. Against New York Olajuwon had 18 points, two blocks, four steals and nine rebounds in 28 minutes. The next game he had 18 points, 14 rebounds, three steals and one block. In the last game Olajuwon played, he almost had a triple-double! He scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He also had a season-high seven block shots! ------------------ [This message has been edited by DJ (edited February 10, 2001).]
I hope you're right or i will have every poster here on my back for defending him time and time again. ------------------ President of the Charles Barkley fan club...Oh he retired? When?
Cato's lack of playing, at his salary has been quite a waste of money for the team, let's see how much: We have played 50 out of 82 games so far. At Cato's $5,333,333, that's a prorated portion of $3,252,032. -For his 7 games played, he's paid $464,576 -For 72 minutes played this season, that's $45,167 per minute -For 13 points, that's $250,156 per point -For 14 rebounds, that's $232,288 per rebound -For his 2 great blocks/steals, that's a nice $1,626,016 per block/steal ------------------ The Serious Police are watching. Scottie Pippen by the Dollars: $13,750,000 this season, prorated for 50 games to $8,384,146. -$232,892 per game (36 games) -$7,209 per minute (1,163 minutes) -$22,180 per point (378) -$45,815 per rebound (183) -$149,716 per steal (56) -$289,108 per block (29) -$51,436 per assist (163) Satisfied Will? ------------------ The Serious Police are watching. damnn, now I wouln'd mind making that kinda scratch playin' ball.. he he.. that's crazy.. ------------------ against all odds
Cato isn't productive even when he's healthy because he's constantly in foul trouble, can't shoot, and can't catch passes. Oh yeah, and for someone his size, he can't rebound. Anyone denying this? ------------------ Shandon Anderson rocks. The lottery sucks. Playoffs 2001.
Hoop-T: I think that might be the best suggestion I've heard in a long time! You mean, that way Cato would actually have to PERFORM to get his money!?!? My God! What a NOVELTY! I think we could arrange it so that a... let's say 12pt, 8rbs, 3blck season with 76 games played could work out to about 6million dollars . ------------------ Shandon Anderson rocks. The lottery sucks. Playoffs 2001.
I agree. But I think that is something he could learn to avoid if he actually got some healthy minutes. I still say pay him by the event...in other words, give him a flat rate, like 100 per dunk, rebound, 200 per block, etc. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
