McGregor has a fantastic chin as well. He does get hit flush but it's rarely when he's coming forward with great speed. Incredible that someone as decorated as Aldo basically ran into that left hook counter. Mind games definitely fked with him
I'm old school so I love boxing. But this kid mcgregor has the charisma of a boxer he's making me tune into every one of his fights from now on. UFC is loving this guy he's exactly what they need. He's getting people like myself to tune in. Rousey sucks I'm glad she got exposed as soon as she faced decent competition she got exposed.
Dominating forces has never hurt a sport ever. So yeah, I agree. What happens is Connor gained many fans that night and also many haters who hate the guy for talking trash and backing it up. This was the best result the UFC could have hoped for, perfect really. Sucks for Aldo, nothing but respect for that guy and I'm hoping McGregor keeps this up and Aldo battles back for an epic rematch.
Connor is the real deal. He can only be defeated if he moves to another division, but i'd like to see him fight first with Edgar, i'd like to see his 'precision beats speed' can connect to fight who moves like Edgar.
Connor's quick destruction of Aldo has left the beatdown of Weidman with a serious lack of discussion -- my god that should have been stopped in the 4th. Weidman's head wasn't dripping it was pouring blood out of those cuts -- Herb let that go on way too long. I never thought Rockhold would win -- the UFC is crazy.

Remember when Cain Velasquez got knocked out by Junior Dos Santos in the first round? Then he dominated Dos Santos in the next two fights. Aldo should get a rematch.

Only difference between Mcgregor and rousey is that she is a female that brought attention to the sport. In fact rousey is MORE classically mma than Mcgregor ever could be, with her ground game and her technical abilities. You HOPE that Mcgregor takes the attention away from female fighters in the mma, for what reason I have no idea.
Mcgregor and Rousey are on different levels with respect to talent and skill set. He has overcome every obstacle so far in emphatic fashion, has far more technical ability in the standup (Ronda is really, really, lacking in that area) and unlike Ronda seems genuine in his selling of a fight, and displays humility once the business is done. Ronda is a phenomenon but she got badly outclassed by holly holm who is a genuinely good person and elite athlete. Ronda needs a major overhaul to compete with Holm who was lighting her up from start to finish. It was a clinic and just deserts for a fighter who said she could beat 135lb male fighters, beat up her SO and gloated about it, and talked crap about a genuinely classy athlete in holm
