I've seen him mocked in both. Teams get desperate. Doesn't mean he's going to ever be an NFL quarterback.
We know that OB wants a pocket passer. And Kaepernick and RGIII aren't pocket passers. They may be better than what we have, but neither are the answer. We'd still be looking for a long term franchise QB. So I'd rather take a chance on Lynch or Goff.
Kind of like how Tebow was a first rounder, I honestly hope some team out there other than the Texans drafts Cardale in an early round, it just means that one more worth a damn player drops while that team reaches and gets laughed at.
I just like Cardale amongst the other QB'S in this draft. I definitely don't think the Texans are smart enough to draft him.
Cardale will be a better QB than any other mentioned in this thread. Watch how the experts start to jump back on the wagon over the next few weeks/months.
It's pretty clear that you have to be an Ohio State homer so I understand you sticking up for your guy but I'd bet that even you know somewhere deep down that Cardale Jones is somewhere between Tim Tebow and Jamarcus Russell as an NFL QB prospect. It's very likely that most people will have completely forgotten about him in 3 years.
I will admit I do like the Buckeyes, but a homer? Nah. Also I see him more as a mix between Rothlesberger and Cam Newton. A player people will be talking about 10+ years from as being one of the best, if not the best, players in this draft.
He's not even the best QB on his college team.....but you think he'll be one of the best, if not the best players in this draft. Wow. I honestly hope this is all some kind of shtick you are doing and that you don't actually think any of this.
Who was the last good QB who barely played in college? Matt Cassel only threw 33 passes at USC, but I'd hope for something better.
Who was the last good QB that lost his starting job due to being terrible at playing QB his final year of college?
any insider that can post McShay's Houston pick? http://espn.go.com/nfl/insider/stor...axton-lynch-atop-mcshay-first-2016-mock-draft
go watch a cardale highlight video and you will find some amazing college football plays. none of which would have worked in the nfl.
19. Houston Texans A'Shawn Robinson, DT, Alabama Crimson Tide* An intriguing subplot with the Texans' pick: Will Penn State QB Christian Hackenberg leave school early? And if he does, will former coach Bill O'Brien be tempted to pull the trigger, despite Hackenberg's continued accuracy struggles? For these purposes, let's assume the Texans don't reach for Hackenberg and make Robinson the pick, further bolstering their D-list. Robinson moves surprisingly well for his massive frame (6-3, 315 pounds). He has shown a consistent ability to push the pocket and is playing the best football of his career.
$10 tip jar bet. If someone pulls this up in 3 years, I'll give $10 if Cardale is better than Carson Wentz. You do likewise if Wentz is better. Wentz will be the best QB I'm this draft. I know that's not much, so I figure it shouldn't be a big deal to take the bet.
I'll give $10 still. Have to define the terms. Problem is, at worst, Wentz will probably still be developing behind someone. Jones may be out of the league.
