That video depresses me lol. So much more explosive and dominant. And effective post up player.

He isn't even half as athletic now.

Yeah it's quite depressing.... What happened to his touch on the running jump hook? Those clang off the rim now.

In the video, he's getting more elevation on the running hook. Sometimes it looks like he's even shooting down. Lack of elevation can be a cause for shooting short.

Yeah. Those defenders missed soooo many flop opportunities. It seems now that every shoulder dip would have been blown a charge.

But Howard is obviously incredibly hampered by the lost athleticism, despite the fact he is still quite the athletic beast.

Remember the alley-oop he had vs the Knicks like 2 weeks ago? Dwight can still jump (obviously not as high as he used to). It's more that he lost his quickness

That Dwight would have destroyed Draymond

They aren't warning nor fining for flops anymore.

He still has hops, just no quickness and explosion. Which I was counting as athleticism.

Now he has to get his steps right and no one can be around him for him to elevate.

Was Dwight an elite player last two post seasons? There is your answer!

He is still, if not a top-5, at least a top-10 player in this league. It would be a damn shame if Rockets lose him. Some of you haven't been paying attention to his game. He elevates his game when he WANTS to.

Remember his very first game as a Rocket? What did he promise and what did he end up achieving?

Plus there is absolutely nothing gained by giving his 100% effort night in and night out when your teammates play little defense. Dwight is at the age where he is looking out for himself. I don't really blame him for trying to prolong his career. It sure fools a lot of people. I would do the exact same thing if I were him during regular games---coasting.

lol. top 5 top 10. lol.

besides, I don't want a player that loses us games "looking out for himself", that's even worse than him being physically limited. You prolong your career by changing/developing your game to have less wear and tear on your body, not give less effort.

Look at TD, look at Wade. Those guys are in their mid 30s mind you.

I don't think Howard is 100% - or wasn't - but he may get better as the season goes on...

This game he was making layups on DJ and Griffin

It's like trying to teach a hockey player to be a figure skater. He is who he will always be...a physically gifted player who can dominate ONLY using this physicality. Players like this need to be healthy or they fade into the abyss of mediocrity.

Great players find ways to adjust their game based on their age or limitations, I guess D12 just is incapable.

It's not like the guy had knee issues and back surgery in a span of 3 seasons....

Dwight has never been elite.... above the shoulders. That's his biggest problem.

Makes me laugh. OK - get rid of Dwight. Who better is available and willing to come to Houston?
Sure he's not Orlando Dwight anymore, but if he isn't a top 5 center, he's def within top 10.
