or.......injuries? I guess Yao had mediocre work ethic too. Kobe has had terrible work ethic the past few years.

People act like Tmac never worked hard on his game. I'd bet he put more time into his game in his off seasons than James Harden does.

You obviously don't remember how Mcgrady on multiple occasions stated how basketball wasn't his true passion and how he wanted to retire as early as age 30.

And Jordan left to play Baseball....Hakeem was more dedicated to his religion...who gives a damn..these people are human beings... not robots.

TMac did open his mouth a lot when he shouldn't have, but i appreciate it now. The league has mostly been filled with players who just say the right things and avoid certain things for PR...they weren't real. Tmac just said what was on his mind all the time. We all have negative or pessimistic thoughts, and if you ask tmac during one of those times, he will let it be known.

You forget Kobe quit in game 7 against the Suns? That was obvious to everyone. Forget how after he ran the reason for his 3 rings out of town and couldn't win anymore, he demanded a trade? No one talks about it bc of some image he gave you that he could never quit. It's fake. It's all PR.

Jordan had extreme issues outside the court like his father dying and then there is that whole conspiracy theory about his father's death.

Also you can physically witness the discrepancy in dedication to the trade with their differences in such things as body fat percentages. No, Mcgrady was never 'fat', but that's a low bar for a professional athlete attempting to be the best. Kobe throughout his career has always maintained a ridoiclusly low bf% and has explicitly stated how it's not genetics but his diet. Mcgrady didn't have that type of dedication.

So what? Basketball is his passion. Play through it. Nope. Baseball was his dads favorite sport and he always wanted to play baseball. I guess he didn't devote himself to the game as much as Kobe who never retired. Yep. I've seen kobe/lebron fans on youtube use his retirement to say that Jordan never gave 100% to the game bc he kept retiring.

Can you imagine all the threads popping up today of people whining and complaining about Hakeem fasting during the season? How could he do such a thing?!? He's not dedicated enough to the team and hurting the team by doing that to himself! He wont have enough energy to play through it! We need these wins! The team comes first!!1
He's too old now!!! Over 30?!? He's only going to get worse every year now! TRADE HIM FOR STANLEY ROBERTS!

Compare 30 year old Mcgrady and 30 year old Kobe. Mcgrady after 27 lost is genetic edge as all humans do and his body fat percentage increased while Kobe was able to maintain his even till 38.

Surgery? Injury that most players never come back from? Geez man...just face it..your hate for him has clouded your mind. Even JVG would shut you down right away and tell you how hard TMac worked. But i guess fans know better than someone who spent every day with him...

being injury prone does suck. it's sad when someone is so skilled and talented and injuries hold them back.

yao ming had a career derailed by injuries. are you saying he also had a mental illness and mediocre work ethic?

This thread has had some wins on the first couple of pages:
    * Someone pointing out the chick in the photo
    * Someone making a "gay" comment
    * Someone playing the race card
    * Someone bashing TMac pointlessly
    * Someone playing the "22-win streak" cards.

    Clutchfans!

It's great to see these players at games. It shows loyalty to the city and organization and it should be a good influence on current/future players. I wouldn't care even if it was Kelvin Cato and Boki Nachbar.

Any former Rocket that comes is a wonderful thing! Oh and I was born in 92 so I'll always be a huge TMAC fan since he was our star during my adolescence. I remember being stoked about purchasing my first pair of T-Mac shoes (with my parents' money). I first became a fan of the Rockets during the last year we had Stevie Franchise. That's also when I had NBA Live 2004 (Vince was on the cover), so I spent countless hours running point with Francis, hearing Marv Albert and Mike Fratello yell, "Steve Francis!! With the emphatic dunk!"

TLDR: love all former rockets (besides Royce White) and yes this is a positive thing.

Royce White isn't a former a Rocket or a former NBA player for that matter. Let's let his name fade out, never to be heard again.

I think, actually, JVG said Tracy wasn't the best practice player. I remember because he mentioned how talented Tracy was so thought that was the reason he didn't practice as hard.

I hated how things ended with TMac but he was one of my favorite Rockets before that.

Also aren't you letting your hate of Harden cloud your mind to compare the two who have completely different body types?

What is this thread? Lol, comparing shirtless pictures of players to prove who had the better work ethic? This is just a bunch of crazy people arguing.

I really like that Calvin Murphy is there every game. He's been there since I started going to games back in 1994.
