I am bored. I rarely start a thread but reading all these posts about NBA's top players had me thinking. Which players will be NBA's best in five years. *I consider LeBron James to achieve most of his potential by that time. But this does not mean that I am favoring LeBron and shouldn't get critisized.*

Top Players in the NBA (year 2008)
    1. Tim Duncan (Best player of all time)
    2.Tracy McGrady
    3. Kobe Bryant
    4. Dirk Nowitski (Best European player ever)
    5. Yao Ming (in his prime)
    6. Lebron James
    7. Jermain O'neil
    8. Steve Francis (31 years old)
    9. Kevin Garnet (has lost most of his athleticism)
    10. Paul Pierce
    11. Jay Williams (just because I had to include another pg)
    12. Pau Gasol
    13. Kwame Brown (hey he was the #1 pick)
    14. Eddy Curry (could happen)
    15. Eddie Griffin (maybe a bit biased, probebly best shot blocker in nba)

    tell me what you think.

I'd replace Jay Williams with Jason Kidd and put him farther up in the ladder.

Tim Duncan is surely great but the greatest of all time in 5 years? I think it's time to put down the crack pipe. Perhaps you meant the best power forward of all time.

Going to be tough for Jay to ever play again much less ever play at that high of a level. I dont see it but I hope your right. Mabye Sebastian Telfair can take his place. Marbury probaly should be in there too if your looking for another PG.

Before he ascends to the throne, I'd be nice to see Timmy kick Karla's ass as he makes his way down. Something appropos like a forearm shiver that results in minor permanent damage.

although i do not particularly care for him...i would put Kobe before T-mac....i think if he can avoid prison Kobe and Duncan will be 1 and 2 for the next 5 or so years....good list though.

    What a pathetic list.
    Marbury and Amare Stoudemire?

And what is the point of looking 5 years into the future? You don't even know which players will be in the NBA by then.

After Paul Pierce was stabbed, no one thought that he would come back into the NBA so soon, let alone become the star player he has developed into. Willis McGahee tore up, I believe, 3 ligaments in his knee, and was told it would take a year just to learn how to walk. He has amazed doctors with his recovery.

The point? Though Jay Will's accident is serious and it may end his career, I wouldn't rule it out. If he works hard and really wants to become a superstar, he'll work his ass off to get there.

What about Carmelo? i mean, he did just lead his subpar team to a national title AS A FRESHMAN!!!!!!!! i think he might turn out to be a pretty allright player, dont ya think? maybe in the top 3. Lets also not forget about Cato!!! i mean, do u really not believe he's going to eventually develope into that player we paid so much for?

He has a better chance to be out of the league that top 20. More realistic is a career back-up at best...he sucks!

Why don't you do some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, like post your own list.

At least his reply was more intelligent than the original post...that was an outrageously bad list.

This kind of thing is impossible to dreamcast about, even if it's just as a hypothetical. So many things can change in 5 years, in fact, chances are that many of the NBA's best players that far in the future are ones we haven't even heard of yet.
