uh, easy there killer. Lets not jump the gun so fast. I say give Mack a few more years to break the BCS jinx. I'd like to see how he runs the team under VY.

Brown feels the pressure to win from fans, but he is in no fear of losing his job. His personality combined with 2 straight top 10 finishes and several top 10 recruiting classes give him high job security. It also doesn't hurt the stadium is sold out, people are buying up UT merchandise, and donations are at the highest levels in history. I don't see him getting fired, he may retire or move on to Florida State after Bowden.

The problem with Brown is he makes too many excuses and coddles his players. The man never gets angry cause he says he doesn't like to disrespect players in front of everyone. If we had a fiery coach like Stoops, we'd kick ass. He'd be like blue chip my ass if you can't stop the run, you're wasting my time and scholarship, get off the field you p***y. Mack Brown would be like come here and give me a hug son, you can do better next time.

Mack Brown has proven himself to be a fantastic recruiter.

Mack Brown has yet to prove himself to be a good strategic football coach.

I'm with Drummer...if UT loses to OU again this year, Brown will be on the hot seat. Another loss on top of losing to OU and Brown will be history.

Do you seriously think anything short of a BCS bowl will get Brown fired this December?

i honestly agree with you, however...i have a strange feeling that a: mack brown will never get fired
and b: UT will do very good this season....but i guess we will see.

Right or wrong, UT alumni think that national championships are their birthright. 11-win seasons are nice, but make no mistake, Mack Brown was brought to Texas to win a national championship(s). Stoops doing it in less time made the pressure even worse.

Like I said before, I'm not sure how I feel about it but I know that another loss to OU would not be good for Mack Brown's long term job security....

BTW, did anyone see the DKR special before the game on Sunday? Good stuff, although it probably didn't ease any of the pressure on Mack Brown. ;)

I think he is safe as long as he can recruit, finish in the top 10, and interest in the program remains high.

The only way I can possibly imagine him getting canned this year is a monumental collapse (8 wins or less).

So he's on the hot seat if he can't beat the #1 team in America. That makes a lot of sense.

Mack Brown's loyalty to Greg Davis and Carl Reese will eventually be his downfall.

How about we wait and see how the season plays out before we start with the "Fire Mack" posts.

yeah..i'm thinking the same thing...#4 in some polls...#5 in others...before Mack, it had been some time since the Horns saw such high rankings over such long periods of time.

    hook 'em.
