This should probably be in the NBA Dish section buy hey it will get moved soon enough.

Oh and Dirk can't be in the top 5 based on the simple fact that he is one of the worst defensive players in the NBA and TMac did lead the L in ppg.

Sorry, but there is no way SF would be in the top 10, or Jermaine ahead of Shaq.

HAH... i tried not to include shaq in here.. i simply despise his game.. i just dont like shaq and i dont think he belongs in the top 10 in my opinion... Most centers suck in the league right now thats why he is dominating.. put him against centers from the 70's 80's era and he is nothing compared to them..

wow bias fans. Tmac is Top 2 in the league if not the best all around player in the game. You people are just bias. Francis is overrated.

You want to talk about Bias fans?

Your a Magic fan (or T-Mac Lover) sticking up for T-Mac!!

And top two.............T-Mac has no defensive skills at all. I was AT the Bulls Game in which he got lit up on several occasions by Jamal Crawford and Jalen Rose. I went bact to the hotel only to see the jokers at ESPN SportsCenter poking fun at his absolute lack of effort on the defensive side of the ball. And that was why T-Mac and the Magic needed help and GOT IT in the Drew Gooden mid-season trade. The Magic needed defensive help.

I'll give you this, T-mac is without a doubt, one of the best players in the league, probably #7 on my list behind TD, KG, Shaq, Kobe, AI, Dirk Nowitzki, etc......... But as for being the complete package NBA player like TD and KG, he is not.

    1..............Tim Duncan..............Was deservedly named MVP

2..............Kevin Garnett...........For his effort to win, should have gotten MVP

3...............Shaq.................Is the Former Champs. He is there heart and soul, offense and defense. Never before has one player meant so much to there team. That was never more apparant then last season while he was out.

4...............Kobe.................His 35 point plus game streak to help the Shaq-less "Supporting Cast" Lakers get back into the playoffs was simply remarkable. he did it all and still does it, regardless if Shaq is around or not. If he were on any other team, he would be the franchise player and the future.

5..............AI..................His career speaks for it self. Nuff said

6..............Dirk Nowitzki........Lets face it. If it werent for this guy, the Mavs offensive juggernaut wouldnt be as high scoring as it would be, neither would the win column. He does it all, scores inside and out, rebounds, defense, steals,etc............what more could you ask for. He's a modern day Larry Bird, yet he doesnt get as much props as Larry Legend. And that's a pitty.

7..............T-Mac..............Despit reasons listed, you have to give this kid his props. Tremendous offensive weapon. In Fact, he is the only reason why Doc Rivers has a job in Orlando.

8...............Jason Kidd.........Lead his team to the Finals twice. Even though its as an Eastern Conference representative, its still a tough feat to accomplish.

9...............Steve Francis.............I'll put it this way. He' AI junior, does anything and everything AI does, except AI gets more props. If the Rockets were to win more though, Franchise might get tons more props. But then again with Yao-mania and if Cuttino Mobley emerges into a star as well (which might hapen under JVG's leadership), SF might not get to see all of his deserved props and mad love to his game.

10...............Paul Pierce................Once again a player who does it all to keep his team ALIVE, but gets no love from the media. If Boston were to make just one Finals apearance with him in a C's uniform though, then he will surly get his props.

Honorable mention to Yao, C-Webb, J Oneal, Ray Allen, Stephon Marbury, Big Ben, Elton Brandt, GP, Mailman, Baron Davis............

The team was built around Shaq and Kobe and what they do. The Lakers needed role players to fill the voids on offense and defense. When Shaq was gone, a lot of the Lakers' offense went with him. This is all very obvious to everyone.

However, to say that LA needs Shaq more than any other team ever needed that team's star is overkill. How well would the 1994 or 1995 Rockets have faired without Dream? Would SA have won either of their championships without Duncan?

I see your point, tigereye. Perhaps the Lakers would not have even made the playoffs without Shaq last year, but a lot of teams rely on one key guy to get wins, and even championships. But do you really think that the Dream-less Rockets of 1994 would have had a better season that year than the Shaq-less Lakers had in part of last season?

Sorry tigereye, maybe I went a little overboard with your analysis of the importance of Shaq. Just don't want anyone to forget about Hakeem and what he did.

Tmac is one of the better wing defenders in the league. A few games, let alone one that you saw, doesn't make him a bad defender.

And Gooden's strong suit isn't defense, it's rebounding and offense.

    anyway, list:

    duncan
    shaq
    kg
    kobe
    tmac
    dirk
    webber
    kidd
    paul pierce

Tracy McGrady and Paul Pierce are SOOOOOO underrated.

Just wait until T-Mac win the MVP this year.

    I promise.

    The guy is unbelievable.

T-Mac not in the top 5 is insane. He's the best guard in the league better than Kobe.

You know what, I hate Shaq's game too and I hate Shaq the person even more than his game. But if you're gonna justify Jermaine O'Neal on the top 10 list and not include Shaq, that's a bit of a stretch.
