This topic is not debatable. If you are on probation, and you smoke pot, you are begging for (and deserve) jail time.
Only a nation of morons continues prohibition because of various lobbyist groups. It's cool that you didn't get the book thrown at you...so how did you get caught?
Htown, I like you and I think you know that; however, I am a little concerned. It is understandable that you should be happy that you received no jail time, but I get the impression that you didn't really learn anything by getting caught. If we fail or not try to learn from our mistakes, we are doomed to repeat them. I would hate to wonder what happened to you when it turned out you were in jail or prison for getting busted smoking pot again. Although I don't agree doing that, it is your life. I just hope you are responsible if you decide to do that again. And now I will stop preaching.
My point was that is it very easy to obtain mar1juana and conceal it without being busted for possession. The vast majority of people who are arrested for the possession of mar1juana I would deem 'morons'. However, I have not taken a stand on the issue of legalizing mar1juana within this forum.
Sorry - I'm not well versed (or practiced) in the art of obtaining it or concealing it. I guess since I haven't had the dubious pleasure of being stopped by the police since I moved to Houston 5 years ago, in theory I could have been using it safely the whole time. However, my wife looked at me the other day when I was laughing at a guy caught for speeding and pointed out that with a little bad luck, that could have been me. So I guess my point is that while a lot of people busted for pot are maroons, some are caught simply by bad luck or even profiling. Have a little heart for people who are basically punished for playing the part of peons in a a political and economic game.
Manny, I appreciate the concern....honestly. I haven't smoked since my arrest and don't plan on smoking again untill I'm off probation. I have smoked for years though, so I'll probably always consider myself a pothead. johnheath, I love you. No bull****, I do. I want you to have my children. Lets move to Amsterdam and make this legal.....please.
