    Houston trades:
SF Bostjan Nachbar (2.1 ppg, 0.8 rpg, 0.2 apg in 5.5 minutes)
PG Moochie Norris (4.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.4 apg in 16.8 minutes)
    Houston receives:
PF Anthony Mason (7.2 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 3.2 apg in 32.6 minutes)

Change in team outlook: +0.8 ppg, +3.7 rpg, and +0.6 apg.

    Milwaukee trades:
PF Anthony Mason (7.2 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 3.2 apg in 32.6 minutes)
    Milwaukee receives:
SF Bostjan Nachbar (2.1 ppg, 0.8 rpg, 0.2 apg in 14 games)
PG Moochie Norris (4.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.4 apg in 82 games)

Change in team outlook: -0.8 ppg, -3.7 rpg, and -0.6 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED
    ------------------------------------
Mason can play point forward and will also do the dirty work. Comes off the book in 2 yrs as compared to long term contract of Mobley. Bucks get a young promising forward in Nachbar and a servicable PG.

How about Griffin, Mobley, and Moochie for Anthony Mason, Toni Kukoc, and their choice of Micheal Redd or Desmond Mason.

Mason and MoT at PF is very serviceable, especially if they're both healthy.

Kukoc is in his final year, and will provide 10-15 minutes off the bench.

Redd & Mason both, I think, will fit in better with Yao and Steve.

    Yao/Cato
    MoT/Mason/Kukoc
    Rice/A Griffin/Boki/Kukoc
    Redd/Pike
    Francis/???

This team has TONS of shooters: Rice, Kukoc, Boki, Pike, Redd. Basically, it's Yao Ming heaven. Aside from that, I think Steve could feed off it too if he learns how to approach double teams.

As for the backup PG position, we would be in good position to sign anyone for half the MLE, even on a multi year contract, since Rice and Kukoc are a combined 15M off the cap next year, while Mason provides another 6M in relief the following year.

    Thoughts?

Griffin and Mobley are the two best players in this deal. I can see why the Bucks would jump all over it, but it would be pretty pointless for the Rockets. Swap in Taylor for Griffin and Mobley and it is quite a bit more equitable.

I'm impressed Sane, thats a really good trade proposal. I agree that this would help the team out a lot. Hey we should stick to the Houston tradition of playing through the Big man, we are known for it with Hakeem, why not stick Yao in similar situation. Nice post:D

Here's to 2 more rings, and maybe more (esp if Yao muscled up like advertised)

I like the trade. I still think our biggest need isn't sf it's pf. We need another banger to help out Yao. Sort of like what Otis Thorpe did for Hakeem.

Anthony Mason would fill that role.

Great. I think it would be pretty even. Griffin won't develop much with Terry Porter and Tim Thomas. Mobley is a better scorer than Redd. He would probably be their primary scorer.

I love Kukoc! He is like an old Lamar Odom! And his contract expires this year. He would be a good backup...

Mason....well he'd be a decent backup. Has he played for JVG before?

Redd or Mason. I think Redd would be a better fit for us...but I like Desmond Mason better. He can dunk and seems like a nice guy. And he knows Rashard and TJ. But Redd is a better shooter.

    Yao 35/Anybody 13
    Taylor 30/Kukoc 18/Mason
    Rice 18/Griffin 18/Kukoc 12/Nachbar
    Redd 28/Piatkowski 20
    Francis 39/Moochie 9

I think Kukoc is like one of Boki's role models I guess. He could be like Boki's personal teacher. And when we need offense....we put Kukoc and Boki or Rice in instead of Griffin or Mason. When we need defense and banging.....we put in Mason and Griffin. Wonderful!

I think Milwaukee is kinda desperate because they suck!!!!

    TJ Ford/Moochie
    Mobley/Mason
    Mason/Thomas/Caffey
    Thomas/Griffin/Haislip
    Pryzbilla/Griffin

But Moochie, Mobley, and Griffin would not work for Kukoc, Mason, and Redd or Mason. Trade Declined....we would have to replace Cato for Moochie. Then it would work. And Redd has to agree to any trade before September 30.

I still like our current team though.

Anthony Mason would be the worst possible addition to not just this team, but to any team. Figure it out for yourself.

He used to be able to do that, much like Barkley did. Good passer and good at reading the d.

But Mason has been a bust talent-wise for the past 2 years. Add to that his contract and him being a locker-room cancer makes any trade involving him suck ass.

why would you wanna get anthony mason when we had a player just like him and much younger in Kenny Thomas and we got rid of him. Mason is over the hill and is trouble of and sometimes on the court. I agree that the Rockets do need a banger in the paint, P.J. Brown was perfect but he stayed in Charlotte.

Yeah i agree... There is no need for desperation.. besides i dont think the rockets would even consider that... Mason sux.. who wants mason, i wouldnt want him, i prefer to keep MoT painful contract then having mason join the team...

Kenny Thomas is the same as Anthony Mason?

Let's not discuss who's better or who's worse, but let's all agree that they are only similar in that they are similar in height.

The reason we'd acquire him when we got rif of Kenny, is because we get rid of griffin in this deal, something we weren't willing to do before. Also, KT signed for 50M over 6 years I believe, while Mason is signed for 2 years and 11M.

Aside from this, KT did not have good chemistry with Yao. Not saying that Mason will, but I'm optimistic because Mason is a good passer and can hit a very good % of his shots.

He has character problems, sure, but so does MoT and so does Lamar Odom. It's a risk I'm personally willing to take, especially for someone as offensively competent as Mason, who can provide muscle and intimidation in the paint.

Think about the possiblities of having this line up on the court:

    Yao
    Mason
    Kukoc
    Redd
    Francis

Four of those guys are above average passers, and can handle the ball comfortably.
