Take it for what it's worth but my cousin works in a building downtown where some of the Rockets live. He said that yesterday Thibs came in and checked out a penthouse and today is interior designer came in for a walk-through.

They said they don't want him to ruffle any feathers. Morey and Harden are peacocks

He's a great defensive coach, but defense isn't the main problem for these guys. IMO they need an offensive minded coach. What good is your defense if you can't hit a shot?

It's standard for NBA personalities to live in Houston and not be associated with the Rockets.
Also it would be too soon to fire J.B. after 4 games when Alexander said he'd stay for entire season. Did they expect something to change in 4 games? Nope.

An offensive coach cant help you hit shots...or might have a minimal effect on you hitting your shot.

He might place you at a better spot where your chances of hitting a shot are better, but if you have a lousy release and cant hit anyways thats something you need to work on

i'm on the fence about thibs due to the offensive droughts of his CHI teams. but i wouldn't be surprised to see him back here given his existing relationship with harden from last summer.

It all starts with defense. Gotta get stops and turnovers to make the offense more efficient by being in transition.

This team is built for transition offense....not half-court set up offense. We're built for runouts and quick open looks. That means we gotta get the mean in our defense, to get out on the break, so our 3-point shooters can come down, spot-up quickly, and either pull or drive and kick.

It all starts on the defensive end and right now we're terrible on the defensive end. Even if we got better shooting, we're too easy to cover in half-court basketball and we lose the biggest advantage we have offensively which is Harden in transition.

We have to fix the defense. And it has to be the #1 priority. If we do, our shooting percentages will improve drastically. This bunch is not going to be a great 3-point shooting team no matter what you do. And if we simply trade for a spot-up 3-point shooter or two and we don't fix our defense it won't make a difference. A few more wins, maybe. But it won't be enough to move us into top-4 playoff contention. We're simply another team.

    Gotta fix the D.

It's not really about offense or defense at this point

The team has fallen so far that any structure and discipline would probably help tremendously. We are one of the worst teams in the league at this point, let's worry about thibs offensive sets when we at least hit .500

I think Harden did great under Thibs on team USA, maybe he can get the team back together on the same page again

Couldn't agree more. It's time to make a drastic change whether coaching or personnel. It's clear this combo isn't going to work....hekk it probably won't even get us to the playoffs.
