the rockets problem lie deep within the org. some random navy seal as a motivational speaker? if they were serious about this, instead of half-assing it. they would have called in tony robbins. all motivational issues dealt with, end of.

at least now, the coaching is out of the picture, so to all these mchale haters, if this team is still losing like a lady, then you call all shut up and admit it's all on the players, i feel for mchale:mad:

I just gotta say, this quote from Battier is probably the single, most depressing thing I've read over this past week. Of course he's right! and there is really no way in hell this team is going to magically reinvent itself, attitude-wise, mid-season. "I don't see a team develop an edge during the season." Of course he's right. I've been an optimist all along, but now? We're screwed. He's right. This team just doesn't have that "competitor" gene in its makeup, sad to say.

I agree that a change in culture is necessary. Less star chasing and more organization and system building.

One way to achieve that is stop treating role players as 'assets'.

Thanx JR for bringing this podcast into my attention.

Remember what Pop did after they lost the finals? He FORCED his players to watch the finals again and again and go over every simple mistake. They didnt' want it but he made them even if it was painful. He forced freaking Tim Duncan. And we can't get our players to show a simple AVERAGE effort not the spirit of a champion, just some simple competition.

Morey himself and people close to him might deny this (and I don't doubt their sincerity). And some people would defend it saying, "That's the reality. All GMs treat players as assets" or something like that.

But fair or not, it's how it is perceived, not just by fans but apparently by players. (Remember Battier said something like that, that it did bother him.) It is poisonous to culture building because role players do not have a sense of belonging to the team. They play for the franchise players, not for the team. When the franchise player is not doing well, they quit on the team.

Why should I care about the team when I might be traded for another asset tomorrow?

We don't have any more transactions than any other non-championship team. And even championship teams turn their roster over. Just ask Pops.

True or not, this is how it is seen. And that's on Les and Morey.

    What's wrong?

    James harden is a cancer!

Harden is more worried about gettin his willy wet than earning the millions that have been bestowed upon him.

With such an immature leader is it any question why virtually the entire team is in the crapper?

Why work for the rebound? So James can heave another brick?

Why deliver solid d, when harden's man will get uncontested shots all night?

    people rag on Morey...

They ragged on McHale (who was pretty stupid..)

but I put the blame on the guy who obviously dgaf... Harden!

Trade him now! He has shown his true colors - and I want nothing more to do with him...

Your s loser dude. Trade harden after 14 games? Lol smh.

This dude has taken us to the playoffs every year been 1st team all NBA 2x won more games every season gotten a higher playoff seed every season advanced to the WCF for the first time in 17 years.

But your right lets get rid of our best player who's only 26 so we can go back to the lottery and get a player who will never be as good as harden so we can hopefully make the playoffs one day and lost first round maybe at the pinnacle advance to the 2nd round. Smh

I don't think some of you know how the NBA works if you want to win you have to have a player of hardens caliber morey would be stupid to get rid of him before getting rid of everyone else on the team.

One thing I haven't heard or read anywhere is suggestions about possible trades.
Any inside news about whether we're looking at trade's at the moment to help the team?

No trade will help this team unless we blow up the harden/howard nucleus.
