Well that's why you hope for improvement, so they can deal with it..obviously can't like this, but at least help is pn the way and grizz/clips struggling themselves.
How far below .500 until we agree that the season is over? Right now we are 4 games under and lets remember that to make the playoffs we will have to be around 5 games over at the end of the season.
Right now 8th seed is projected to be ~41 wins People forget other teams struggling more than usual, also..suns have had mostly easy/troubled opponents
It is over in the sense that we won't achieve anything meaningful. We might sneak into the playoffs but we'll be out in the first round anyway.
Rockets remind me so much of my NFL team the Dolphins. Loaded with talent and can't do anything with it. Tons of off season hype for both teams and both fire their head coach at about the same time in each ones respective season.
The Rockets went 6-11 on year and still managed 51 wins that season. The season is far from over. The poll is surprising.
Was the 94-95 season over with the rough start? No. Granted, Hakeem and Clyde are walking through the door, but it's not over.
If you consider a playoff appearance a success then the season is far from over. If you measure it by the chance at winning the whole thing then yes, it's over. I fall in the latter. This team could very well get on a roll and sneak into the playoffs but for what? To get swept by the Warriors or Spurs? It'll be a tough pill to swallow but tanking seems like the best option. Everyone keeps mentioning the Spurs adding Duncan (far point) but let's not forget we tanked for Hakeem. We're extremely lucky our first round pick is lottery protected.
I will say I don't think Dallas or Phoenix will be playoff teams. They'll drop off and the Rockets can slide in, where that is at who knows. Problem is a lot of us felt getting Lawson we had a shot at challenging for a title. We should have had 3 all-star caliber players and the enigma of how good Dmo is and how good can he be. We had Brewer who last year was instant offense off the bench and we had Bev returning. On paper this team going into the year should be thinking about a championship and they are not even close to that. Anything is definitely possible at this point though but the Rockets HAVE to...MUST figure out this Lawson thing.
Season's over but we're going to end up with the 8th seed and 1st round exit vs Warriors. And no draft pick.
Depends on what "over" means Championship? it's over Playoffs? still very possible Conference Finals? still possible
Thats what Im thinking. They are approaching the point to were they need to decide if mid-late seed is greater than mid-late lottery and some cap space for next year.
I hate using terms like that early on, but the play of the team begs extrapolation. Barring some miracle trade we are going to see a lot of this going forward. Anybody know about the draft prospects next year?
As much as people won't want to hear this, it ain't over until they're mathematically out of the play-offs. The West doesn't look nearly as bad as we may have thought. Phoenix has the 4th seed at the moment and they're 7-5.
