Anyone in new york gets hyped. John starks was so overrated, he had one good game against the rockets but is more well knownfor his horrible shooting in game 7. However, a person with this size and athleticism and skill at this age is very unique. And he was drafted highly. Lin wasn't drafted and doesn't possess his size and skill. Lin not being drafted is part of his appeal. He was the ultimate underdog (Ivy League, Asian-American, etc) just to make it in the NBA on the edge of being cut, but then took a team that was severely underachieving given the salaries and profiles of the players and made them winners when the coach gave him the keys to the car. Would people have cared it it happened in New Orleans? Maybe not...but if it happened in Boston, LA (Lakers), Chicago, or any other big market team with a storied history during a season when the team was severely underachieving, it absolutely would have been hyped like that. As Kobe said back then: "I hear this stuff about how he came out of nowhere and I think it's a load of crap. You can't play that well and just come out of nowhere. There has to be something there and everybody missed it".
Mcfail lost his job because he decided to put his team on a hero baller like harden instead of a team first guy like lin....now these me first players turned on him after he called them out for not playing harder and with more effort. This also happened with the Knicks on going with melo and letting lin go...the next season the knicks won over 50 games and lost in the second round. They have not been in the playoff since.....and tanked last season and got lucky in drafting Zinsanty.
In the meantime, the Lakers still suck hard and there is no hope in the near future. I want Porzingis do great so I can laugh at Lakers, for years to come.

Yeah, we Rockets fans discuss our players in the GARM. We don't talk about them in this thread to prop up Jeremy Lin into someone he isn't. Then again you're a LOF so I wouldn't expect you to understand the difference.
