He doesnt have a floater, he doesnt attack the rim from different angles, doesnt use the glass, doesnt have reverse layup, no post game
Y'all are getting too crazy. I'm as disgusted with his effort as anyone else but you can't deny his talent.
Can't deny that he's lazy, beyond useless on defense all the time, beyond useless on offense this season, brings bad attitude to the team, makes others look worse, can't shoot with right hand, can't drive to the right, hasn't shot 50% once this season. Where's the talent you're talking about? He was talented offensive player before, but not this year.
What has he added to his game this year? Teams will adapt on defense. He needs round out his game. Add a floater, play off ball, post up, work on going to right of the basket, try and finish a layup instead baiting for a foul.
k, you just rendered this thread i started worthless. and come to think about it, you may be right. i just think baiting a foul call is too big of a part of his game. and that part can be unreliable, esp. in critical game situations. otoh, his ability of getting foul calls is unique. outside of this, his other aspects of the game is not superior to many other star players.
The league figured out his game now he is exposed. He needs to work on his game by adding to it. Thats what great players do, they keep improving and adding new moves. Stop worrying about your little stupid stirring move and work on something that helps you. I'm kind of over this dude already, he has become too cocky for his own good.
Its not saying your post is worthless. But the facts remain that there is nothing new that we do not know about Harden's game nor should anyone expect he will have some breakout in the remaining of his career. He is a very good offensive player, when he cares. He could be a very good contributor to a team (someone was so upset a week ago when I said this) but if your team is counting on him being the leader, you are mostly likely going to be disappointed. A leader can not have a one dimensional contribution on the floor, especially the issue of lack of efforts. Harden is not a good defensive player, and he will never be one consistently, but combine this with the lack of efforts, its just embarrassing and take the whole team down to another level.
People need to stop downplaying the whole effort / defense thing. I don't care how good his offense can be, his defense is such a liability how good is he really? As in his total impact on the game. Hard to argue its top 10 in the NBA.
what about last season? what i've said, in or outside of this thread, about james harden remains true or at least reasonable, last yr or not.
