Even though they got Pippen, they needed another veteran swingman that can play defense and knows his role. Gill will provide that. I defintely see Chicago making the playoffs now: PG - Crawford, Hinrich SG - Rose, Gill SF - Pippen, Marshall PF - Chandler, Fizer CT - Curry, Corie Blount Other players - Hassell, Baxter, Mason Jr., EROB, Williams(INJ) Veterans Pippen, Gill, Rose, Marshall, and Blount bring alot of playoff experience. Add the youth and talent of Curry, Chandler, Crawford, Fizer, and Hinrich and that's a nice mix. And alot of their players like Crawford, Pippen, Rose, Marshall, and Chandler can play multiple positions as well. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune...sgill,1,5256955.story?coll=cs-bulls-headlines
Bump to my own post. Anyone agree/disagree that Chicago finally looks like they have a team capable of contending for the playoffs?
It looks like they are capable of making the playoffs but they won't still too young and inconsitent. They will win 35-38 games
They have alot of young players, but they also have Rose, Marshall, Pippen, and Gill. That's 4 talented veterans who can play. Add that to Chandler, Curry, Crawford, Fizer, and Hinrich, and they have a good mix of experience and youth.
I think adding Pippen and Gill will do a tremendous amount in terms of perimeter defense, and experience winning on the road: both areas where Chicago was bad last year.
