every nba team has talent. we dont have a big edge in the talent dept.

Yeah, but Harden was consistently playing out of his mind -- and even then, our wins were nearly almost close. This is what kept troubling me last season. It felt fluky (to me) when it was happening, but getting to WCF made it easy to forget. Idk.

You are correct. But when you can pin point bad coaching, you can say we improve if we find someone who knows what they are doing and can hold the team accountable. Eventually Harden will be the Harden of last year we need someone who can coach the team when he is not MVP Harden. The rotational mistakes tonight were glaring, that's not lack of talent.

 

well, we lucked out. sort of.

remember the playoff seeding had to be decided at the last moment? that was crazy, and i dont remember it ever happened in the nba.

say, if were the 7th seed and play the spurs in the first round, what was gonna happen? another 1st round exit, maybe? even after we beat the mavs (as we should), the clips series was going ugly until josh smith's magic (i.e., somewhat fluky) 3 rainfall saved us in game 6 and harden wasnt even on the court at the time.

 

Lose tomorrow to Dallas and all hell will break loose on this board.

 

Likely but based on what we've seen so far from this team, no one should be shocked or surprised.

 

There should be a *Viewer discretion is advised* warning before every game for this team. I mean holy hell I think I might be coming down with Hypertension, Depression, and Tourettes and I'm 22. WTF man, this is what I eagerly waited 5 months for????? Why u do dis Rockets why??

 

thought it would happen if we'd lose to the nuggets tonight. didnt happen. maybe ppls aint caring much no more?

 

Idk, I'm not trying to be Debbie Downer. Really just trying to manage my own expectations. Started last season thinking I'd be happy just to make some noise in the playoffs. Then Harden turned the sliders up for months at a time and had Canaan/DMo/Papa/Ariza/Tarik Black looking like a contender and I got greedy. Need to reprogram just for self preservation, just in case. This sucks a lot.

 

i waited 8 months for the texans. and i wait every yr.

Friday night game. And actually the Dallas game is Saturday night so less people on the boards. If it was Tuesday night game however....

 

yup. it's all about expectations. and esp. if you dont want too much pain...

 

That's what is effing ridiculous. We're losing games we were winning with a rag tag lineup last season. How, Sway??

 

Harden will have to score over 30 to win. It's sad but true with this team. Good thing he hates Dallas as much as he hates the Clippers.

These guys didnt forget how to play overnight. They have as much talent as anyone in the league.

This looks like a team that has quit listening. It looks like a team that is telling their coach that theyve lost respect for him and his ways. McHale should be the one speaking but its the players that are expressing what they feel by the way they are playing. Im not insinuating that the Rockets are tanking but I think there is a feeling that if they keep playing like this that they can FORCE the front offices hand. You can fire one coach alot easier than you can fire an entire team.

McHale would work with a team that has strong vocal leadership from their stars. Harden and Howard arent taking that responsibility seriously. We need a coach that Harden will look up to...or at the very least doesnt seem like a pushover.

I dont know who that guy is but if we found him, I think this team would be so much more disciplined because Harden would jump their ass when they slacked. He would also hold himself accountable I believe.

 

This may happen. Don't forget we are going against the best SF in the league.
