I nominate Clutch to be the next Rockets head coach. I mean the founder of Clutchfans, but The Bear would also be an improvement over current circumstances.
I don't mind giving Shane Battie or John Stockton their first job as a coach i think they are two brains and perfect for coaching.
Enough with this nonsense. Loaded team? GSW is/was never a loaded team. On the talent pole, they don't come in our tier. This is simply tremendous coaching, and today's rules(that make Curry unguardable & Draymond so unique). Make absolutely no mistake about it, we are far and beyond more talented. I mean, **** what were the Warriors projected to go BEFORE last season? Iguodala was known as a mess from the FT line, Bogut wasn't reliable or healthy, Draymond was a guy you only play in certain matchups and as Steve Kerr, himself, confessed a spot minute/9th man type of guy. If Lee doesn't get injured, they had know idea that Draymond would be this extremely versatile 4 that is warranting a 5yr/82 mil deal, 2nd in DPOY. This is all a system. Make no mistake about it. THIS IS A SYSTEM engineered by a player who played for two of the best coaches of all-time, hired the top D assistant of thibadeau, and a prior assistant of d'antoni. Every elite team has a component of d'antoni in their system, and thibs in their d system(besides us). This was engineered properly.
This. Those Josh Smith YOLO 3s really saved his ass. He is doing nothing (different) than he has his ENTIRE time as coach. If you think he was just a dud on the bench watching the game during the playoffs, you're right. If you do not think so, you're wrong. Watch the playoffs vs. blazers, and last years. This is just our team getting more talented each year, if you're saying he's gotten better each year with us let's start after year 1, where he got harden. Then after year 2, he got Dwight Howard, then after year 3, we were supposed to be worse but managed to sign Smith in-season and get Brewer. Now it's this year here. Each year he's been given significantly more talent. This team's talent deserved a WCF appearance. I'm happy we got it, and I hate making excuses why but it was sure NOT because of McHale. This team's talent DESERVES a ring. This is one of the most loaded teams we've ever seen.
All I know is this: 1. Firing McHale will not do a damn thing and only make us worse if the rest stays the same. 2. Even suggesting JVG is just silly. Yes he made us play defense, but that offense was even worse than this, a lot worse. Not gonna happen 3. If we do fire McHale, rather early than mid-season. They can still adjust to a new coach, strategy and such early on. Mid-season? I don't think so. 4. McHale is part of the problem and in the long run it's probably best to part ways. I just don't see us winning a championship playing like this. 5. This gets me to my last point: Morey has done a lot for us, but that strategy and the roster make-up is definitely a big part of the problem as well.
Pretty much this. People are greatly underestimated how hard it is to acquire coach worthy to lead a championship; much less, ignoring the reality that if McHale gets fired mid-season, more than likely he'll be replaced by a current assistant. As much as folks bash McHale, I see the issue being consistent effort. I'm not really sure how instilling Thibs or JVG is going to exactly change that with the roster we have.
I'm not rooting for a coaching change but if happens now or in the future my top candidates would be callpari or however you spell it and Kevin Ollie.
Thibs or JVG may bring a Kerr effect to Rockets. Instead of Kerr's offense, if they can bring the disciplined defense while maintaining our current offense, it will do wonders for us.
i think the big question is; has the league caught up to morey's strategy? everyone's pace is up, everyone's 3's are up. what gave us an advantage isn't an advantage anymore.
Doc is pretty overrated. He's won a championship though, and he can coach during key moments of a game. He's not bad, but I don't think he's as great as everyone makes him out to be.
Let's have a clapping contest. Anyone that can clap louder than McHale gets my vote. They can't be any worse in coaching, so as long as they also win the clapping battle, we can't go wrong.
