Did anyone watch day one of the final table? This is the first time I have watched all the hands on TV, it is great to see the the moves and comments. Looks like Joe McKeehen is going to walk away with the 7.2 mil.
Haven't watched it on TV, yet. I usually watch them when they are released on youtube (and try to avoid results). I really enjoy it a lot more seeing every hand rather than how they used to condense it all down in the past. Van Hoof dominated the first 70% of the final table last year only to blow it, although he never had a lead like McKeehen... you never know what can happen out there.
Mckeehan. Solid player. Big chip lead. Probably got it won. But man....he strikes me as kind of a douche.
McKeehen is catching hands like crazy. Seems like every time he sees a flop he gets a piece of it. He's playing smart by keeping hands cheap though not getting himself into trouble even if he's got the best of it. I'm glad someone said something to them because day 1 was brutal to watch. Yesterday the action moved pretty good. I don't mind if a player waits once there's been a raise or once the flop has hit but tanking preflop when you have no money in just to fold was ruining the first day for me.
Mckeehan does have that douchey vibe about him but I think it's unwarranted. I'm sure it's just his stare down people get riled about. He's been playing smart and "fast". That Stern guy makes me want to punch him in the face for taking 2 minutes to make every decision.
Joe McKeehen won. He kept catching hands and avoided huge pots or all ins. http://espn.go.com/poker/story/_/id/14102442/joe-mckeehen-wins-world-series-poker-768-million
This was a total domination by McKeehen from start to finish, at no point did anyone else have a chance, very impressive and lucky.
After max went out, I was rooting for mckeehen because he was reading everyone and their card story correctly. He played the best. But I agree. He's hard to like as he takes little verbal jabs too that would be annoying, giving himself credit even when losing a hand. He's kinda like Phil Jackson annoying.
Guy played well, but my god the hands he'd get. Final day wasn't really watchable since it was so one-sided.
