If people just paid every tax levied on them, we'd never have had The United States of America. Home of the free and **** all your unfair taxes, *****es!

The Founding Fathers approve this message. That toll road is probably owned by the Brits anyway. We kicked their *** in WWII, WWI, and the Korean War! Go Pat!!!!

Most cases the Toll Authority will send 3 invoices to the address on the vehicle registration. When there isn't a response, it is sent to the JoP who then has DPS issue a citation to appear. When the person doesn't appear, a warrant is issued for a failure to appear.

This is how it was explained to me very recently by a different toll authority in a different area of the state. I assume most of it is set in statute and is SOP for toll authorities in Texas.

You would be shocked at how many tolls people rack up without paying. The toll authorities try and combat that with obscene fines and admin fees. I've seen people with $700 in tolls and $6k in fines. I've also seen people with thousands of dollars in unpaid tolls.

So he is still playing tonight, right?

Now that I think about it, I don't think this is an arrestable offense since the violation is against the vehicle, not the driver.

In order for citations to lead to arrest warrents, it has to be issued by a police officer, giving the cited the opportunity to go to court to challenge the citation.

It's why you can ignore red light camera citations.

Tag could have gone out and he didn't know fees were piling up. Happened to me once and racked up $250 dollar before I realized that the light wasn't turning Green when I went to the EZTag Store to dispute the charges.

See my explanation. This happens to a lot of old people and people with financial issues or recent divorces.

Sounds about right... questionable offense while he'll get over and get a pass due to excellent defense.

Unless a police officer directly gave the citation to the driver in each case, the accumulation of fines is only directed to the vehicle, leading to booting, towing, impounding. Maybe that's what happened, Bev was stopped and told his care was being impounded, so he "took a ride" down to the station and paid the outstanding fines.
