Marvin Williams would be a more useful player to us than Zeller would be, if we're talking about role players on Charlotte.

    Wtf lol

Stats show efficiency bro. Also prime AI is probably arguably as good as Harden.

Because we rely so much on the 3 pt shot, what we need is more accurate three point shooters. That's the whole key to our offense and i think we're just one solid shooter away from really rounding out our offense. Anderson is a solid rebounder, so i think that's a good combination to have at the 4. Ideally, we could go after two PFs and really go all in. Guys like Brewer, Harrell, Dekker, KJ, Jones, and even DMo should be on the block.

How is Jerry Lin on Charlotte's team? I read they may trade him to the Bulls.

Terrence Jones straight up for James Johnson. Johnson is a better situation (Blake Griffin/ Lebron James) athletic 3/4 defender than TJ. Montrezl is not ready for that role yet, as much as I love his game. The salaries are an exact match so there are no hard cap issues. Bye Felecia.

James Johnson isn't a PF, but a SF. He could be a PF if you play small ball.
But Jones as a PF still has better ball handling than Johnson.

    No thanks.

What are you talking about?! James Johnson IS a PF in today's NBA. In addition, he has better ball handling and power moves than Terrence Jones. Moreover, you are what you can defend. Terrence Jones (as much as I like the kid) has proven he cannot defend elite power forwards. Offensively, James Johnson can space the floor on par with Jones off the dribble. The upgrade is johnson can be plugged in as a situational defensive stopper on athletic face-up 4/3's like Blake Griffin, Lebron, Draymond, etc. educate yourself. Pay particular attention to Terrence Jones and D-Mo trying to defend him... http://youtu.be/SA-hNvBarfw

    He is all that.

His Achilles heal is his character/mental issues. Flies off the handle if he gets under pressure. Does stupid stuff on and off court. If he could change that he has all the rest of the tools to be an All-Star caliber player.

Agreed. Still pissed we had both James Johnson and Hassan Whiteside on our D-League team and didn't figure out a way to harness their talents. Ron Artest, Vernon Maxwell, Dennis Rodman on and on won rings while having a bit of crazy in them. I'd take that toughness over TJ getting punked in the paint anyday. It's the same reason we love Montrezl. We need that edge to get to where we want to go. When Trevor Ariza and Patrick Beverly are the toughest guys on your team you need to take a shot on guys like James Johnson & Hassan Whiteside, regardless of their quirks.

TJ can't shoot either. James Johnson does everything TJ can do on offense. Where they separate is on defense... http://youtu.be/SA-hNvBarfw

No, Johnson really cannot shoot outside of about 3-5 feet. The spacing would be bad. I will give Johnson this, he doesn't take bad shots.

I don't especially like Jones and would love an upgrade. I do not question that Johnson is a better defender and mentally tougher.

Something will be done about the PF spot, and I would not be adverse to Johnson if someone that can spread the court is added to play the 4. However the Rockets offense falls apart when there isn't a 4 that is a threat from 15 feet out.

I want to make it clear, I am not criticizing you. You are thinking outside the box and that is a good thing. I like Johnson in limited minutes, he is a very talented player that has a tough streak and will defend. I would love him off the bench or even a few minutes at the 5. He just would really hurt the spacing IMO.

Thanks man. I'm not suggesting James Johnson should start. In each of my posts I expressed he should be used only as a SITUATIONAL defender. Break glass in case of emergency defender off the bench against the likes of Blake Griffin and Lebron. We can't expect a 30 year old Trevor Ariza to defend 4's like that for 35 minutes a game all season. He needs help and Cory Brewer is not it. I hope Montrezl develops quickly but he is not ready now. James Johnson would not hurt the spacing any more than TJ does. Nobody respects TJ's 3 point shot. They both attempt to space as fake playmakers off the dribble. I'll take the defense and toughness off the bench and ride with Marcus Thornton and D-Mo to space things out.

If you trade for Anderson, you better score 140 points a game to beat teams like SA, GS and LAC.
