This forum is getting swamped with fantasy trade threads. These need to be sent to either a new forum.

    Aye or Nay?

I vote hell no. Fantasy trades are mostly washed up pipedreams and take up useful space, i.e. trade proposal by "RagingFire" about trading the entire Bulls team for the Rockets. I'm still trying to figure out if that was a sarcastic post or not.
I'd much rather prefer insider information on trades from people who know rockets staff personally or have significant connections to sports related sources like ESPN Insider, etc. We already get enough stuff like "Steve Francis & Yao Ming for Greg Ostertag and Mickey Mouse!! What do you guys think?!!"

This poll is too give these guys a place to post their drivel so that we don't have to wade throught that crap in the Rockets forum.

I don't know if having another forum is the answer, but something has got to be done about all these fantasy trade threads.

I voted yes to a trade forum. That way, I don't have to read the same old drivel about how much someone hates trade threads, & yet, they seem to take the time to read & post the same old dried up response about hating trade threads every time. Talk about the definition of insanity. :D

"Hint" to Clutch, rockets-#1 and jason0215:
The trade proposal to swap the Rockets and Bulls is stupid, yet no more so than the other hundred trade threads on this board.

At least when Toyota Center gets de-new-ified, maybe the arena forum could be converted...

    No.

Because you couldn't really banish just "fantasy" trade threads w/o banishing a lot of interesting trade ideas... and speculation.

There are a few posters, Hottoddie in particular, who put forth interesting, thoughtful trade ideas. I enjoy reading them. THey help me to think about our players in a different light... their value to the team... and it's fun to think of possible (but realistic) trades.

I think that most of us don't mind those trade threads. But if you create an entirely separate forum, those will be devastated.

One might as well create different forums for good posts and bad posts...

This forum should be talking about Rockets games, player progression, players coming, players leaving. Stuff like that.

Everyone and their mother thinks half this team needs to be traded and the quality of most of these trade threads are low.

Here is a radical idea - If you don't want to read trade threads, don't click on the trade threads. They are usually easily identified by titles such as "A trade the Rox should do" or something similar.

Another board I read started a new forum everytime someone asked.

Pretty soon, it was so splintered, no-one went there anymore.

Haven has company right here. The problem is not "all fantasy trade threads"... it's the stupid trade threads and the stupid complaints in the GOOD trade threads. Many of us enjoy good speculation for the reasons haven pointed out.

It beats a lot of the BS posted here that has nothing to do with trades and everything to do with some juvenile infatuation with a particular player, either "you're just a hater of (fill in the blank)!" or "vote for (fill in the blank) on the ESPN poll!!!! He's behind (another fill in the blank) !!!!!!"

If you don't like them, don't read them. It's not Rocket science.

Really? Why should it? The description of the forum reads:

Seems like trade threads are appropriate, included under Roster Moves.

If you don't think that roster moves are an important, interesting part of any team... you could always start your own bbs. Rosters moves are hugely important... and the good threads about such things shouldn't be exiled into the Fantasy Forum #2 because of a few fools without a brain cell but a bookmark at RealGm.
