One of the dumbest movies I have ever seen in my life and a total waste of $4.00. followed closely by a....
Yeah, agreed. I thought it was a terrible film, but a clever one at that. I'm sure they didn't have to spend too much money seeing that they had no special effects, only a handful of actors, and had only one location. They must have made a bundle. Good thing it was released after The Recruit.
His wife was so forgiving of him it was pathetic. And why did she keep getting out of the cop car?? It was also a total waste of talent on the otherwise hot Katie Holmes....
I didn't see it yet, but I'm becoming a big fan of Colin Farrell. He's been in so many movies lately, and he's turning in some good performances...the ones I can think of off the top of my head... Minority Report Hart's War The Recruit S.W.A.T. Daredevil Phone Booth
What I didn't like about it was that he really wasn't that bad a guy. Sure, he wasn't the greatest guy around, but compared to the other guys the sniper killed, he wasn't bad at all.
Yeah at the very least he should have screwed Pamela (Katie Holmes) that would have made him more of a b*stard - and my hero of course. I do like C.F. though Loved him in Minority Report and Recruit. Looking forward to seeing S.W.A.T. soon......
You need to check out Tigerland. That is the first film I saw him in. Awesome film about recruits in boot camp for Vietnam.
the premise and concept of the story sounded so sensational and the acting was also decent, but damn it became so damn predictable very fast.
And the snipers voice made me laugh when he got all mad and tried to be scary - like the voice from the "Scream" movies. It didnt sound like he was on the phone with Stu, it sounded like he was in a sound studio meticulously recording his voice and the fake sounding shotgun being cocked. I thought at the very least they would try to make that sound fairly accurate.... After I realized how terrible this movie was, I found myself laughing at the pizza guy, the hookers, Stu's way too forgiving and unbelievable wife, and of course the cops. Why the hell they let her out of the cop car 3 times I will never know.....
I saw Tigerland on HBO, that was an awesome movie. Did it come out at the movie theatre because I had never heard of it before?
I don't think it ever came out in the movie theatres. If it did, it had a very short run. But it was a great movie. I also saw it on HBO.
You hit the nail on the head. He was stalked by a sniper because the THOUGHT about cheating on his wife? Gimme a break.
And he was kind of a d!ck to his clients/friends - big freaking deal. They really didnt build him up that much. I would have liked to have seen a scene or two with the wife, one of his clients, and Pamela before he got in the phone booth - that would have at least given the movie a bit more feeling than what it was - a movie that suckers you to go see it.
Tigerland was really the movie that put Colin Farrell on the map. it was also directed by Joel Schumacher, who is loyal to his actors. He cast Farrell in Phone Booth and then they shot the movie in 13 days, then shelved it for almost a year. a good friend of mine plays the unpaid intern who chases Stu around in the beginning of the film. he's also the "what day is it? free pizza day" Domino's kid, and he is a couple of indy films. Watch out for Keith Nobbs i didn't think phone booth was all that either.
I liked Phone Booth. Its what I call a stressful movie though in that your nerves are on edge the whole time just watching the movie unfold. Kind of like Very Bad Things (underrated movie).
I saw phone booth and identity on the same day so I wasn't as pissed off about wasting my money. Two for the price of one. I need to stop stealing from those poor set designers and popcorn sellers.
