i was wondering what was the contract status with robert horry. i think r. horry would fit in perfect with this team. His style would definetly match ours and i d have him ova walt williams anyday.

horry would be a great fit for the rockets right now. not sure if the Lakers would let him go, though. Also got the feeling that he and Rudy didn't get along all that well when he left.

Although Horry might be a good pickup if signed to a small contract, I believe that we got the best years out of him...

When Horry was playing in Houston, he was slender...He couldn't bang down low very well, but he could elevate, block shots, and had a pretty accurate jumper...

When he got to La-La land, though, the Lakers coaching staff wanted him to be a more "prototypical" power forward, so they bulked him up a bit...

Now, checking my handy-dandy Houston Rockets commemorative section from the June 18th, 1995 edition of the Houston Chronicle, Robert Horry was listed at 6-10 220 lbs...Now, he's up to 235

15 pounds may not sound like much, but it's enough to seriously affect his outside shot, which is spotty at best...

The problem is that Robery Horry was never meant to be a PF. He's a tall small forward, best at getting his point off cuts to the basket, alley oops, fast breaks, and, of course, spot up jumpers. He has never been that good at putting the ball on the floor, except for maybe one dribble and two long strides to the basket....(one time, I saw him get from the three point line to the basket using only one dribble)...

If it only uses up a million or less of cap space, though, I say that Will Smith jr. wouldn't be a bad addition, especially with a guard like Francis that is so good at finding the open man...

A-Train, it seems you are arguing that horry is a 3 of some kind, which he is not.

The reason Robert Horry is not a small forward of any kind is because of exactly what you mentioned: he has never been able to put the ball on the floor.

I think the guy has turned into exactly what the Rockets need out of a four: a hustler who can get boards, plays good defense, and can finish nicely on the break. If you've watched the Lakers play in the last year or two, you've probably noticed that Horry does all the little things and seems to come up with key boards, putbacks, and the occasional mid-range shot as well.

I think Carlos could be every bit as good as Robert Horry ever was.

Robert Horry might be a good pick-up, if it weren't for his annoying tendency to hibernate until the playoffs start and then play like a star.

I would give Walt for Horry any day. At least Horry plays some defense.

So does anyone know the contract situation w/ r. horry or is there some kind of trade we can work out for him. Personally i d give up walt (lakers need the 3 pt shooting) and collier(they need a backup at the center) or cato(he hasn't played much but he's got talent, maybe la will workout for him). r. horry and rudy t had problems??? i didnt know that. well either way i d love to see horry back w/ the rox.

Robert Horry would be a good pickup over Walt Williams, but by no means is he really that significant. RH was one of the most inconsistent players I've ever seen, and although he could be useful, he's not much of an improvement on what we already have. Maybe a good backup SF/PF??

I'd take him back in a second. No matter how aloof he seemed or totally inconsistent his offense, the man ALWAYS plays good defense. He's a natural, and way better than his reputation. Much better fit than Walt.
