One day you'll learn what an excuse is. You should know by now though. Because everything McHale says usually is one.
I agree McHale is just serving up excuses for not having this team prepared to start the season. And he isn't even good at making excuses. Fact is there's no excuse for how the team has played to start the season. They played with more pride tonight which is why I had a feeling they would win tonight because pride had to kick in sooner or later. The team still has a long way to go as so does McHale.
New year, same excuses. No personal accountability. At least O'Brien will at least say we as coaches need to do a better job. This guy is always making excuses or blaming the players - no energy, ball got sticky, etc.. It's pathetic.
He'll probably always have a ways to go because he's just not that good of a coach. He is what he is.
I detested Mchale when we first hired him, but he's trying. He'll make adjustments and we'll be fine. Our players just have to play harder with more zip and zap.
My problem with McHale is I don't think Harden and Howard really listen to him, particularly when it comes to defense for James or being careful with fouls for Dwight.

i watched every minute of that awesome video. Send this **** to morey, spam his twitter. I know he's back on it today.
I Love CJ. He's passionate about his team, and he may singlehandedly take down Kevin McHale for us. Let's help him out any way we can by tweeting this to Daryl Morey. I've already sent it to him from 4 different accounts.
FTW Rockets FTW seems like a good candidate. And the day that Morey & Co. take seriously & take advice from a youtube video from Captain Jackass is the day that we have forever lost our beloved Houston Rockets franchise down the toilet.
I believe we've lost it if we hold on to McHale, but that's just me. No wait a minute...that's 75% of the city.
That's a pretty damning video. And that's taken from just a few minutes worth from one game. By an everyday NBA fan, no less. I do think the offense will improve somewhat as Lawson gets more comfortable and assertive, while Harden, Ariza, and Brewer knock down at least some of their outside shots. D-Mo's eventual return will also help. But the bottom line is if there's no coherent offensive system implemented by McHale, we're gonna continue to see long scoring droughts, careless turnovers, and bad, contested shots. What is undeniable is that the Rockets have had a lot of different players come through here over the years under McHale's watch. Yet in all that time, they've consistently had the same problems. Turnovers, lazy passes, stagnant offense, failing to run back on defense, poor execution out of timeouts. At some point(and I think 4+ years into McHale's tenure we're there), you have to stop pointing your finger at the players and start questioning the coaching staff on why these guys don't seem to correct any of these issues that plague the team.
If 75% of the city of Houston is getting knowledge and advice from this guy I feel sorry for the city of Houston
Mock him all you want, but he did a very good job breaking down the Rockets' collapse against the Heat. And it's not like he's pointing out anything the rest of us haven't seen. For whatever reason, the Rockets seem content to settle for mediocrity when it comes to their head coach. Which is odd since Morey is hellbent on constantly improving the roster(as he should be as GM). All I can conclude is it's either philosohpical(Morey truly believes head coaches have minimal impact on a team's success) or ego-driven(Morey wants a puppet as his coach). I'd say recent history proves however that you do need a damn good if not great coach to win it all.
