Even with alittle cheating you can still lose weight. Actually the whole idea of the diet is perfect. Even after your done with the Atkins you are aware of all the bad foods and you wont eat them. U can cheat every once in awhile, but more than likely youll keep the weight off for life. And if you need help on the diet just email me at monkey7392@aol.com.
He definitely looks much better compared to last year. Don't think he needs to lose weight, maybe just turn his fat into muscle.
....are you a dietician? Or are you joking? Yao does look fat. But who cares. Shaq is fat too. I will be worried though if he is slower too! He was already the slowest NBA player ever and hopefully now that he's fatter...he's not even more slower. Too bad Yao has to return to China every single year to not improve! That sucks....but he probably likes it.
I dont understand why everyone is saying YAO is overweight. I think the big fellow looks fine. For a man his height, he looks very proportionate. I dont hear anyone complaining about Mo-T or Cato being overweight.
Yeah, I don't either. I remember W&S posting some pics of him without his shirt and he didn't have a bulge or anything in the stomach area. Granted, he didn't have abs that you could grate cheese on, but he also didn't look like he had taken apart in Junior 2. I'm not saying he couldn't lose a couple of pounds, but I haven't seen anything that shows a lot of fat on his body. I don't know. Maybe he has Barkley's behind or something.
Yao doesn't need a Atkins style diet. This would cause a drop in his stamina. Carbohydrates are the bulk of what you need for energy. With really obese people, they have stuff like this stored. The body literally eats itself. Plus, Atkins diets can be bad for the kidney's. With weightloss your supposed to look at the balance of calorie intake and burning it off. His nutritionist probably looked at what he expends, and what foods would be best for him to lose weight safely without jepordizing his energy and health. It has to be a long term process, not losing a bunch of weight quickly and regaining it slowly. This is what I remember from college nutrition.....so its very hazy. Lets just hope Mo Taylor is getting some advice from this dude.
All i know is that Yao is far from being like shawn Kemp. One month in training camp will help him lose the escess baggage everyone is talking about. The way everone was talking I thought he balloooned to 400 pounds.
Hehe. You are right. I am betting about 99% of athletes are a little out of shape during the offseason. Whoopty damn doo if Yao needs to lose or gain 10 lbs in the next two months.
No wonder he's so tired lately (see windandsea's posted article). Recently I decided to finally drop some of my spare tire. I'm not a big dude, but just needed to shed some fat, and dropping many carbohydrates, and cutting back on calories, really burned me out. And I wasn't playing organized basketball. Better to drop the 10 pounds now than in training camp.
but how is this his offseason? hasnt he been playing and practicing continuously for the past few weeks anyway, i think the whole thing about him becoming fat is way overblown
Not to call anyone out, but, cmon, what's the point of quoting the image? Slows some of us down, you know. Oh well, Yao looks fine to me, but I'm sure he and Falsone are on the same page.
Atkins is not bad for the kidneys. It is a controlled carbohydrate plan where you get most of your energy from the fat in your diet and gradually increase the amount of the high-quality carbohydrates you eat. The things you cut out permanently are generally sugar and high starch foods like bread and potatoes. By the way, they probably taught you in college nutrition that a high-carb, low-fat diet helps you lose weight. That was wrong too. I'm really surprised that the Rockets' guy would put a professional athlete on a vegetarian diet though. I hope they have enough protein sources. Yao just put on all this muscle, and now they might be forcing his body to burn protein just so he can lose ten pounds. *say it ain't so, say ain't so~*
no, they didn't talk about high carb lo fat as losing weight. the consensus was that you must find out what you burn on average, and go what you intake, and tip the balance gently. there are people who have made a connection with atkins potentially causing kidney issues. i don't think its a big risk...but.
