Isiah is a given for this years ballot. My question is just a question. I grew up a Sixer fan with Dr. J, Mo Cheeks, Bobby Jones, Moses, Toney until Charles Arrived. Since then I followed the Chuck Wagon.

My question is does Bobby Jones have any chance at the HOF? I always admired him, he never scored much but he played great D and always hustled. He played the 6th man role well later in his caseer. I know it's personal to me, but is their any merit for Bobby Jones for the HOF?

Isn't that scary that my favorite player changed from the quiet, defensive-minded Bobby Jones to his polar opposite Sir Charles.

But honestly any chance that Bobby could ever make it?

I remember Bobby Jones, I was a big fan of the early 80's 6ers teams as well as Rocket teams. Hated the Celts, of course.

If the NBA HOF is anything as exclusive as for football and baseball, I would say he wouldn't make it. He was a good player, maybe even an all-star once or twice???--but HOF status usually means a trully great and impacting player for quite some time. Of course maybe he did a few things in 70's that I am not aware of, so I could be wrong about it.

Think of it this way, I don't think such guys playing in his era as Micheal Cooper(?), Bob Lanier(?), Pual Pierce, Andrew Toney (?), or Danny Ainge (?) are there nor will current players like Micheal Finley, Eddie Jones, Hornacek, Mutumbo, Kevin Willis, or the Portland trio of Rasheed Wallace, Steve Smith and Snottie Quitten be there either, who except for the latter are all pretty good or even outstanding players for many years.

Bobby Jones started his career in the ABA. I am not sure of his stats but I do know he scored more in the ABA than he did in the NBA. Of course he had Dr.J and George McGinnis for teamates, so common sense would tell you he didn't touch the ball very much with the sixers. Jenna is our resident ABA guru, so I hope she reads this thread and fills us in. As for my vote, I say yes he deserves to be in the HOF.

Well I saw Isiah, Worthy, MacAdoo and Moncrief were the other guys on the ballat with BJ. Of these 5, all but BJ should be a sinch for the HOF, if they can't take all 5, BJ won't make it at least for this year.
